Going from a full size XDM .40 everyday to the Glock makes a difference as far as weight. The Glock is a lot lighter and the same caliber. I have yet to shoot it so I don't know what to expect. Likely gonna kick more than my XDM.

But otherwise, its just a "my dick is bigger than yours thing." Quicker spool up and very adequate cooling from a larger top mount is where I'm headed.

eh.... Yes, but they're designed to give better airflow over the intecooler. My intercooler being inefficient would be my second concern at the track, but I've already 1) done a couple things to help it function better and 2) am going to do one or two more things to really help it cool better. My concern is the intake air temp sensor is part of the MAF sensor and with the car sitting there it just heats up and tells the ECU to cut boost and pull timing for "safety reasons," but its doing it too soon/too aggressively. A MBC will fix the boost issue, but I don't want to go that route without a tune. A tune would, overall, really help the situation, but I'm not ready for a tune (a re-tune would be needed shortly after).

Here's something you may find interesting as far as scoops go. I'll be utilizing the STI spec C scoop eventually.

I met the guy Corbin was talking about. His friend bought the STi, all I know is that its been modded heavily. I noticed that it's a front mount intercooler, and I saw 3 big tubes from a peek in the scoop. Haven't had a chance to ask him about it though.

Props to you for doing your research opposed to just buying random parts. Your factory intercooler setup should be sufficient to ~300whp IIRC.

On a different note, here is a short clip that LB took yesterday at LTGP. The wagon had an STi drivetrain and was moving right along. Props to you for doing your research opposed to just buying random parts. Your factory intercooler setup should be sufficient to ~300whp IIRC.

On a different note, here is a short clip that LB took yesterday at LTGP. The wagon had an STi drivetrain and was moving right along. Alot of people do an STi intercooler, but the USDM ones are a bit smaller than the JDM ones and tracking down a JDM one is a hassle, not to mention it can be costly despite being a used part. The popular solution- and the route I'm going:
