what ever you do, dont go to tires plus for an alignment. I went there andmy tires wore so unevenly that my fronts wore down in 22k miles on easy driving.

Edit: thats how long the tires lasted altogether, before and after alignment. The wear was terrible after the alignment, in 7k miles, i was down to cords on the inside.

I PM's them asking for an update. I mean, the last time I talked to them, they "recieved" the container and will be doing a "inventory" on it. That was last Wednesday. I called them Friday and they said they're still going through it. Its getting gay, man. I want a J's exhaust, so I don't know what to do. Its the only exhaust I'll be happy with. I want a loud, light, with a dolphin tip exhaust. And, J's has it all...

All in all, I want a dolphin tip (tip that points downward)

I had just bought a set of tires for my Wifes car a month earlier and I needed two loose tires mounted and balanced on a set of loose rims that I had for the Mustang. They charged me $35 just to mount and balance the damn things. So needless to say I will never buy another set of tires from them again. But they do have the cheapest alignments around.

Wow, guess I'm used to getting it done alot cheaper. Usually $20 for both. The $35 was strickly to mount and balance. I already put new stems and didn't have any old tires to throw away.

It's been years since I've had to have loose tires mounted. I believe last time was when i was in the Military and had to change over from snow tires to my street tires. I could swear i only paid $25 or so bucks for everything then. Of course it was at Elmendorf AFB Service station so that might have had something to do with it.

I ended up joining the car club here at work due to it. We have our own mounting and balancing machine so I no longer need to deal with outside sources.

Update on exhaust:


6 months for J's products? That is definitely excessive. I just checked our sales orders and we're on a pretty consistent 2-3 month turnaround time for J's Racing products, even made to order exhausts.

I guess one of the reasons why we have much faster lead times than other companies is because we actually run our own shipping company and send containers back from Japan every 2-3 weeks regardless if it's full or not. Other companies have to wait for their containers to fill up before they will send it back. We have a lot of people relying on our consistent container shipments, so we ship back on a pretty strict time table.

I really don't know what to say, and I hope that you get your exhaust soon. At least once you get it, you'll be absolutely elated!

Nailed the cat doing ~60 or so. :D

QFT. You might actually like a used exhaust better because its already broken in (sound gets better.) If the scrapage isnt too bad on the exhaust, just sand it and polish it, you would never know the difference.

And you can't sand and polish titanium without the gradation (burn) coming off! :D

And, my best bet right now is N1 Concept. They say they have one on the way from Japn and will be here in July. But, they'll need a deposit. I just have wait for my refund via paypal. But, I'm honestly scared to, because I don't wait this happening again. I'm gonna give them a call and make sure they know what they're doing.

My vote goes for an S4! The Maintenance sucks though. It's expensive if you pay to have it done, and is sucks due to the complexity if you do it yourself. Just research the timing belt change to see what I'm talking about.

A couple of weeks ago it was slipping, then today it's not slipping but chattering extremely bad when it got hot. As for the plastic carpet thingy, it wasn't too bad! Looks great and thank you! My mom helped, so it was a lot easier. But, as for my car, I didn't even bother doing anything else besides the floor mat. There's too many humps and bumps on my floor board and it pissed me off. So just the floor mats are protected.

I agree. Black wheels are overplayed and look like steelies when the car is rolling. The stock AMG wheels looked a ton times better.

Don't know if this will help at all but when I was an F-15 Crew Chief in the Air Force I used to polish my Jet's engine bay doors (they were Titanium) with Never-dull http://www.nevrdull.com/ and they would turn out great. The first time will take alot of elbow grease, but after that each time is easier.

I'm sure some of the Painter/Finisher guys here have something else that would work too, but this is just in case you can't find anything. I think I even still have an old can laying around if you want to try it. If nothing else I have a can of Met-all polish laying around if you want to try that as well. I'm glad to see that your finally getting your exhaust Teng. Before you install it, I'd try using a very mild polish somewhere on the piping to see how well it's going to clean up (how much of the burnt finish is going to rub off). Let me know if you need any help installing it.

well whats up guys finally back i see not too much went on while i was away and i am glad to hear you are getting your exhaust teng oh and i got your buffer which i will bring to ya whenever you are home just lmk oh and btw say bye bye to my teens lol finally 20!!! only one more year till i can buy my own alcohol lol oh and i got my cf canards along with my nismo v2 wing that need paint now btw it all cost right under 400$ i got the cf canards for free!!! which were priced right at 200$ so instead of paying 600$ i got it all for 400$ shipping included i think they were taking a break on me since i payed out the ass for my bumper lol and i am getting the side skirts and rear when they get it in lol so they know they are not loosing money but hey make me feel good. oh but might be leaving you guys for about a year and a few months a sister unit of mine is deploying and splitting up to afgan, iraq, and kuwait, they mob in sept. but i might still not be going depends on what happens with rotc still if i contract i cant go...if i do i come back and have a house at 20...and finish school which i havent payed a dime for and come out with plenty of cash but we will see ill keep you guys updated got to find something to do with the car if i go :( hope i can finish the body work first...oh and i bought my fiance her ring just in case i go too...bought the band from jareds 14k white gold, plat head for 1200$ and then the diamond is .85 ct vs1 g cut excellent from usaa for 2800$ best deal around too other places were charging right under 3.5k for that but around 4k for the whole thing so she is happy lol. if i go i am getting a court house marriage before i go and when i get back have the ceremony but that is if i come back which i better lol i just would hate afgan right now i would rather go to iraq where my dad is but hey beggers cant be choosers but kuwait would be a vacation ( so i hear lol ) but whatever happens you guys will know sorry i wrote so much...been gone for a few weeks got to catch up but probably wont be out friday got alot of stuff planned so yeah...going to bed now catch up with everyone later peace

I had some work done at the dealership to my car and met him there and noticed he had a Si and chatted for awhile. From time to time I catch him on the 8thgen civic forum. He needs to come to the meets sometime to represent the 8Thgen love!

Yay, i leave for new york in a few days for a memorial service for my aunt who died earlier this year. While there maybe ill find that illusive honda hatch for a price i can afford.
