Well Teng kicked his ass and here's a video of me and a friend of mine racing. He's got a 2002 AP1 will an AEM cai test pipe HKS exhaust and possibly a header. He puts about 1 &1/2 - 2 cars on stock S2K's (seen numerous vids to back that up)
So this mazda should just be a waste of gas on the street (as long as there's no funny business :ninja:), but the track: don't know since I really have no clue how to launch on sticky pavement. lol

there's rumors going around about his car having more done than that so i really don't know. But I've seen the videos so its no lie. Not to mention I've played around with a stock one with a full tank of gas and a passenger in my car and had no problem polishing him off quickly.
The one I raced in the video and I did a race from a dig and I put about 1 &1/2-2 cars on him.

I used to know a guy that would race his honda 2000 from a dig. Last race he did was for slips against a jetta, but the kid ran, and it ended up really really messy with a bike chase and people getting hurt.

Actually i had a friend in florida that really used to race his s2000 from a dig all the time and would decimate all (damn another ff reference lol) and never had a problem with his rear differential. It was an ap1 too if im not mistaken. God i wish that old forum was still around id show you the vids they had of the races. Let me see if i can find anything on it.

Sounds like the AP1 has all the ricetastic mods cheap mods that don't do a damn thing for our cars. If you want to gain any small gains (which is very little in NA form), you have to spend a pretty penny for good quality parts. Not the American made crap.

David - Don't be afraid to launch the car. Dump the clutch at ~6k rpms, any lower and the car will bog, any higher and it'll just spin. Just be sure to avoid wheel hop as much as possible as that's usually killer.

First off, you make it look like he put buses on me which he did not. 3/4 of a car by 110 don't seem like he totally handed my ass back to me aka "waxing" me. He got most of his pull in 3rd gear. As we got faster, he stopped pulling. But you only saw it from the side of the road.

I don't do spirited driving anymore. My suspension is set up for it though and I can assure you you'd have a hard time pulling away from me. My tires are wider, my sway bars are bigger and my car is lighter. Driving fast down public roads is something I don't get my jollies off to.

IMO, roadcourse>autox. Autox is much cheaper though. Road Atlanta is a higher speed, more technical track then LTGP but LTGP is cheaper and doesn't mandate S2K's to have an OEM hardtop.

It's always been a dream of mine to take my car to road atlanta. The only thing I lack is the funds and the brakes. Other than that the suspension is very good to go. My suspension is not overly hard and it's far from being soft. If the funds were there I would love to go to road atlanta and take a couple of passes there. But sadly, it's not due to 2 kids :doh: but maybe oneday when the money is looking better, I will definately take you up on that. Road atlanta isn't like going to commerce or reynolds and pay $20 for as many passes as you want. I know you know that.

But like a lil bitch you shoved the manifold back to me and said "I can get those for $20-$30 all day." I do have a job, when school is in session, im an intern for a college recruiter, but during the summer im not employed except when im detailing a car (shameless plug) or helping a flower shop.

As far as a car, im looking at an eg hatch. Hopefully something finally goes my way. I just want a beater that can get me to and from campus, and that doesnt drink gas like its water and i can throw stuff in without worrying about ruining leather or stereo equipment.
