Start simple. Replace the fuses with new ones to see if the problem is more consistent or less consistent. Sometimes fuses will alter the amount of power going to something and cause issues like that. If you replace the fuses and nothing happens, then I would start metering the connections to the window motors and the door lock plugs. If it does help make the issues less consistent, the particular parts may be going bad.

Make sure your window lock button isnt pressed. Ive seen it many times. A good test light goes a long way if you dont have a multimeter. Also never force the tip of any lead into the connector which could result in loss of terminal tension.

What part of a WRX tranny is such a weak link?

02-03's have a second gear cog that's a bit narrow. Either in late 03 or starting with 04 this was fixed along with better syncros (I think- not 100% sure). In 06 and 07 (the same years the WRX went to the EJ255 2.5 motor) the gearing was changed a little for a bit wider gears.
While the 04-05 and certainly the 06-07 transmissions are better than my 02, they still suck.

Second gear is not strong at all. If you aggressively shift 1st-2nd the synchos can't keep up so it grinds. do it enough and it'll grind all the time. The solution for this is to learn how to shift into second smoothly- not exactly easy to do when your after a 12 sec time slip with the stock turbo....
The second failure is still second gear related, but alot more dramatic. Even at my power level its possible to have it happen.... Either from shifting to second hard, or in some cases, even just the shockload of brining the motor into boost with a marginally laggy turbo (flooring it at 2k and the turbo hits hard at say 3300), the teeth on second gear will just shear right off. Not one or two teeth, usually half of them...
My gearbox'll be lucky to make it till winter- especially with 172k+ miles. I'm using a mixture of 3 different oils in my transmission and change it somewhat regularly and thankfully its held on this long.

The six speeds suffer from none of the above. They just have really short gearing thats not condusive (sp?) to 1/4 mile racing. Its been proven many times that at equal power levels the 5 speed usually has better trap speeds and lower times due to having to shift one less time and not having to wait for the turbo to spool up again. This is part of the reason why I was able to hold Steve off for so long despite being down on power compared to him (a better launch and an insta-spool turbo no doubt helped as well. lol).

I know the limits of the stock internal motor won't let me make more then 350-375 reliably- the car is my daily.... A stock sti block with some headwork on my heads will support the 400-425 i will eventually make with a 20g. If were smart, I'd do a set of forged pistons and be good for 500ish (ringlands are notoriously weak on the sti motors)...

Go get a cheap Multi-meter from Harbor Freight and check all of the leads for power at the window motor and lock actuator. And as said above if you cant get ahold of a meter, go buy a cheap ass test light from Advance or autozone and see if theres power.

Oil shouldn't make a difference on NOx levels. Had the exact same problem with the Del Sol last year. Grabbed Bobby's cat and it passed no problem.

I disagree highly and its from personal experience. My dad has an 05 93 2.0t and its the biggest pos ive ever seen. The interior quality is literally shit,everything creeks. Its in the shop for months at a time due to two blown turbos and and idk what else. It loves going into some safe mode bs for no reason. The car is shit and as far as im concerned. He was given a brand new 93 to test drive for a few months last summer,when his car was getting fixed, and the interior is still shit.
