While pricey, i have to admit, that was some good eats (fogo de chao). definitely something you want to try. For 50 bux you get a pretty awesome salad bar, awesome all-u-can-eat meats (the fillet mignon was so soft and tender, you barely had to chew it.) The ribeye, top sirloin, Parmesan encrusted pork tenderloin, and chicken were all awesome after the fillet. They have a card thats red and green, if you want some meat, flip to green and the meat is non stop! Gaucho after Gaucho of fresh out of the pit meats. I started to cry when i got full, because there were other things i wanted to try. Hell their pao de quejo was awesome too (cheese bread.) So if you were thinking of going, go!

I got to ride in a GT42R powered Evo earlier today. On low boost it puts down 710awhp and on high boost it put down 966awhp with 100shot to help spool the turbo. On low boost we were redlining at 8,600 but it redlines at 10,600 on high boost. Fucking nuts. Although it was fast as hell (once the turbo built boost at 5,500) it's not something I'd want for an everday car. The lag is so horrendous, it's almost a pain in the butt just pulling into traffic.

Actually got my father to order me some amsoil today. 5 quarts and a filter. He said it'd be about $45-50. Mobile1 was costing me ~$30 with a crappy Fram TG filter. I'm gonna streach my oil change from 3500 to about 10k miles. I'm actually thinking about doing an oil analysis with the mobile1 that's in there and then the amsoil in a few months.

They say its good for 25k miles. So me using it for 10k is light duty. How much of it is a sales pitch and how much of it is fact? idk. But I'll prob have the oil analysis done around 4500 miles just to see how its doing and then decide from there if I wanna keep going to 10k or pull the plug early.

I agree though, the oil temps and amount of work the oil has to do (lube and cool not just the motor, but the turbo as well) in a boosted environment is substantialy more than a NA motor. But, I think synthetic oil in general is alot more durable than we think (or have been trained to think) it is.
Idk... I think an oil analysis will give me the best advice and I can make a better desicion based on the results.....

Redline was all that I ever used in the Focus but those oil changes got pricey so I stopped using them. When I was reading up on it, RP was just as good and cheaper so that's all I use now. M1 Clean 5000 is what I use if I need my oil change and I don't have much money.

Take note that the Penzoil and Valvoline synthetic BLENDS did better than the fully synthetic Mobile 1 and Redline!!!!! The Royal Purple (in this test atleast) pretty much owned all.

This is as good as it gets for factual data. There are variables still, but its alot better than "Well this one looks cleaner after 5k miles than the other one did after 3.5k miles. Wouldya think Bob?" lol

Joe I read the article you linked last night. The test wasn't bad or performed improperly, it was just one test. Thats it. It wasn't the end all be all of oil tests either- none exists. Like I said and they said, its just a bit of data that you could use to help you make a decision. I found it interesting and slightly helpful but not enough to sway my choice of oil- at the moment.

OK, guys, here is what is going on with the car situation. FOr those that care that is. LOL

I can no longer afford the premium gas, the synthetic oil, and the replacement parts for the ION Redline. I was going to trade it in for something that fits my family a little bit better. The ION Redline only seats 4 and I have 5 members of my family so I need something with 5 seats. Due to the amount still owed on it no one was crazy about doing the deal. We looked at our credit report and realized that since our bankruptcy (discharged 4/2009) the bank that the ION Redline was financed through was no longer reporting to the credit bureau. We talked to them and they said that they should be reporting. The reason they weren't reporting is b/c someone there didn't finish their job when the bankruptcy was done. Long story short, the bank that the car is financed through is allowing us to give it back without penalty due to the fact that it is already a part of the bankruptcy. I just have to take the car to a local branch and hand them the key. I already bought my new car (supposed to be here tomorrow). It is a 2010 Cobalt Lt sedan. Has a 2.2 liter 4 cylinder, manual and its black.

There you go. That is the situation. LOL

Will the B&G's from the SS fit the base Cobalt? I was actually curious if the ION Redline ones would fit my Cobalt.

Your Redline should have the 5x110 with a 42mm offset wheels. The Cobalt SS is also a 5x110 bolt pattern. As for the offset, I dont know. But remember the Standard Cobalts have a 4x100 bolt pattern so dont get them cornfused. But if your new one does have 5 lug wheels, they should be the same bolt pattern. Offset might be wrong, but the bolt pattern is the same.

I have someone to buy my springs (unless they will fit on the Cobalt). I don't know where to find out if they will fit though. Also, the exhaust that is on the Redline is supposed to fit the Cobalt also so I'm going to keep it for the Cobalt.

Gene Evans in Union City only had one GT with the proper gear box; the one I test-drove and someone happened to be working out a deal on it. It was white with red interior. It looked pretty damn good. My only complaint about the car is....it rides too damn smooth. Smooth enough to where to you don't even realize how fast you're really going.

Nothing's really wrong with it, but the X02 top mount is cheap (<$300) and has proven itself as an exceptional performer time and again. Its fairly large and has a super small pressure drop which is a huge plus. I wanna get tuned and turn the boost up to ~18psi. At that pressure level the stock TD04 is comparable to a blow torch in terms of air temp so while the stock intercooler can support decent power (400 is for the STi units IIRC) its more capable to do so with a more efficient turbo such as a 16g.

As for the AP, idk.... I keep getting mixed reviews. The downloadable maps for it are fairly conservative and everybody recommends getting Pro-tuned once you install it. I can get pro-tuned with nothing more than a tactrix cable and even then, any tuner would have his own. So it kinda seems like a waste of $600. Still undecided but time will tell.

At the moment I'm not too happy with the car. I had a problem months ago where the car would hesitate and bog under moderate load and above 4k rpm. It would come and go at random, sometimes days apart and NEVER throw a CEL. After replacing $500 worth of ignition coils and trying numerous other things I found out my airbox was cracked causing the problem. I fixed it with an SPT intake- or so I thought. The problem came back last week and the headache too. No CEL (no stored codes or pending codes), complete randomness, typically when the car is driven farther distances, just bloody insane......
Its not an ignition related issue, its fuel. Somethings telling the ecu false data or altering the data to the ecu causing it to cut fuel or there's something amiss with the fuel system itself causing starvation. Open to ideas and suggestions......

Do you have a laptop you can hook up while driving to see whats going on? If nothing elese install a fuel pressure gauge, They're cheap and extremely easy to install to see if you're getting a pressure drop when it happens. That way at least you'll rule out your pump and related hardware in and out of the tank. Once you figure out if its a delivery problem or not, you can move onto the scheduling side of the house. A laptop and software would be your best bet.

Possibly a crack somewhere and you're getting boost loss? Thats my only ideas. I'm an idiot when it comes to boost. Its like trying to explain a Kaledeioscope to a retard.
