His hood scoop is bigger than mine and has fog lights. His looks better with the black sideskirts and grille and I shaved the Subaru logo off the trunk but left the WRX emblem.

What you should do in your spare time is source several bases for these and convert them all to completely stock. That way when you want to make another one you have a stock base to work with. Just a thought.

Nah, you can either have the gases recirculate or vta. Vta is just louder which I don't mind. I was shooting to have the car at least started today but that doesn't appear to be happening. Yes he was. I've been trying to remember his name.

Andrew I believe. He used to have a RS6 as a track car and felt it was too heavy so he bought the R8 which is now the track toy. During his delivery of the vehicle, his salesman mention a V10 model which made him disappointed. Not until a track event at VIR where he kept getting passed on the straights by a V10 did he decide to install a twin turbo kit, which I've had the honor of getting a joy ride in.

Friends of The Newnan Crew, let me briefly share with you the bane of my existence for the last 4 days in my quest for moar low:

Thursday consisted of my prepping the car for the suspension swap. I hate suspension work and knowing my luck I knew I decided to get ahead of the curve and take the Progress coilovers out a day early in case of issue. As I predicted, one balljoint was seized in the coilover arm while to other balljoint had a spinning stud. After futile attempts to remove even with the help of Mr. Teng, I was forced to cut the balljoints off with the air saw the next day. Of course no Honda/Acura dealer or parts store carried the balljoints on hand :headslap:
Richardson came to the rescue and rush ordered me a set that arrived no more than 3 hours later! These bad boys arrived shortly after.

After getting them in David and I literally did DIY alignments for a good hour going anywhere from -10 camber to +5 camber, toe in to toe out, etc. Finally after it was safe to drive I noticed ungodly scrubbing on flat ground, noises, and inability to steer upon cornering.

Last night I pulled the fender liners and most issue on flat ground was resolved, however I still had problems with even the slightest bump in the road and any cornering. Here's a picture of the issue....

This image is taken inside the fender, that blue metal you see is actually the wheel arch support which is behind your fender liner. The unfortunate solution? Beat the living shit out of it with what Pulzone and I like to call the "special tool", also known as a mini sledge hammer!

I did give it another go with the hammer after a test drive and beat it senseless more and primed it to prevent rust, just don't have a picture. This time, 90% of the issues were gone, but upon spirited cornering I'm still contacting that metal. The only solution left is to go in with an angle grinder at another point in time. For right now, it's good enough to daily.

Ultimately, to my knowledge no one has gone to such lengths on the DC5 chassis to drop this low and try to eliminate this contact, at least it's not documented.

Another question. I decided I dont want another car payment. So VIII or IX? Tranny doesnt matter 5spd or 6spd(EX. RS vs MR) because I dont plan on going crazy with it. Just a fun winter car that will still be fun little pocket rocket in the spring/summer. Based on his previous statements he's looking for a fun car to drive in all weather, not a track toy, so it's track performance is irrelevant. Both cars are well suited candidates. The X does sport some improvements in other areas which could lend to a better daily driver. As for the looks, that's totally a matter of opinion; I actually prefer the aesthetics of the X.

Only the st170 badge on the right side. As for the wheels, if you can find something with a fat five spoke, that would be great. Like steve said- for a simple clean decently quick DD an X is fine, but let's face it- a guy with a 600+hp mustang (I think I got that figure correct) takes performance very seriously and I honestly cant see it being left "lightly modded"

That's an issue that most people have, they rely too much on their radar detector which causes them to lose focus on their surroundings.

I used to do that back in the day. I prefer to run without a detector, but I'm not opposed to throwing one in the M.

I just got a call from dad. I finally let him drive it with MY re-tune for the first time (I've been tweaking it 2-3 times a week for 2 weeks now since I don't take the car everyday). I put my tuner's map back in the car when I'm done so I know he's safe since he doesn't datalog every minute of driving time like I do. Anyway.... He's extatic!! lol He loves it and swears its noticeably quicker than before. I just need to square away one or two minor issues and do a severe abuse test and it'll be done.

Idk... My truck seems to run smoother at 70 my foot just naturally gets it up to speed... I constantly have to bring it back now that I'm not speeding.... Before is just let it go... 70 was a very controllable speed on every road I drive on... It's born into me to be a mechanic and go fast... ALL of my dads side are mechanics and my uncle on my moms side does 175 in the 1/4... Being able to control the urge is hard... It's natural and it takes will and maturity to control it... Which i don't have...

If you talk to the soliciter (sp?) and explain your in school and trying to get a dergree in whatever and bring last quarter/semesters transcripts (hopefully they look good?) he/she might be willing to bargain with you and help you out. Its worth a shot. They just want your money, they dont care about your license.

Very seriously. I have always like them since i was in middle school when a friend of mine had a 90 miata. It was a fun car, and thought I might as well join the band.

I like my hatch, but i rarely use it to carry stuff like I thought I would. I thought about maybe a newer, more expensive car, but its also nice to have money in the savings account.

When we did our National meet in chattanooga we took a route that the NSX folks liked that didnt include the dragon but was fun none the less. Had literally no cops (well that could have changed now, it was 3 years ago.) Im trying to get the route for those who want it.

Eibach is definitely a hard-parkers type meet. I wouldn't say California is the worst state in the country though. Just like every other state, it greatly depends on which part you're visiting. I was in Long Beach a couple years ago for the SpoCom show and that wasn't a bad area...plus I know we're all in relationships but the eye candy is worth the trip to Cali as well.

In regards to blood mountain and stuff, after receiving my last ticket via Officer Cocks, I don't plan on going up there anytime soon except to appear for my jury trial.

Laurabeth and I will be taking a trip to Seattle relatively soon. That'll be a nice getaway.
