Ok I am still trying to figure out wtf that door means. And damn come on buy a clean shop lol. Even if this was a kickass business the look of it would make me take my money elsewhere.

the look of a shop doesn't necessarily mean bad business. a buddy of mine started out painting cars out of his garage in a crappy little house. the difference comes in your work and business ethics. he would not let a car leave until it was perfect, and he would verify with the customer before he let anything go. if they had concerns, he did whatever it took to make it right even if it seemed unreasonable at times. his work was stunning on a bad day, but he had a perfectionist attitude because that's what customers expect. needless to say he's still in business just in a real deal shop and still turning out amazing work.

i have kept up with this drama throughout the day, and i have seen the pics.

yes, bugmans pics were all close shots, but isnt that what you look at when you pick up a car from paint? the details...? it seems like those dont matter to rockstar.

and if ANYBODY really thinks the paint on either car could EVER be worth ANY money, whether it be materials or labor or ANYTHING they are completely out of their mind. i could do better with discount walmart paint, as many others could do.

RSM is obviously in the wrong, they have been called out on it, and all they have done is hide behind their fine print BS on the invoice and phantomsilvia has directed any problems bugman has had with the paint to the painter, basically evading the questions/concerns of bugman, and we ALL know that to run a business you have to be honest and responsible for any and all actions taken by any employee or aspect of your business. its called professionalism, and RSM has none.

its sad that a 19 year old kid who has never owned a business knows all these things, but at LEAST 2 people from RSM cant figure it out...

She keeps saying take it up with the painter, is this a partnership or is only one of them the actual owner. If your painter is not a partner in the business, then he should have absolutely no say in the matter. His job is to prep and paint, not argue with customers.

With this being a new shop, there should have been a lot more pride taken into the work done to the red mustang. Not only for the sake of satisfying a customer, but help build a solid reputation as a competent place to do business.


Just remember that a happy customer will tell all his friends. An unhappy customer will tell everyone.

many helpful suggestions i.e. take responsibilty for your work, take care of your customer, so on... have been offered multiple times but when the finger pointing starts, you better put on your flame suit around here. i dont think anybody had anything bad to say about her personally just the quality of the work done by a company she appearantly represents. my father would beat me if i charged someone for a paint job and sent them home with that.

I agree 100% but like I said before, I think we are done doing business. I have taken 4 cars to Maaco since then and have no stress dealing with them. I took 2 cars to them and look what I am in the middle of now. Maaco painted 4 and have 12 more in line and do me just fine. I probably should have stuck with them in the first place but apparently I am a no reading dumbazz and didn't know any better.

This is where I keep getting confused. I made the original deal with her and then with him and then her again and then he and I agreed on a few things and then she met me to pick up the car. Then she apologized several times and said she was going to have words with the painter and now I am told that I need to take it up with him???

I can't even tell you how confused I am. Did I miss some details? Heck yeah but in all the confusion I started getting dizzy and just quit trying to figure it out.

Again this is where I am really confused. He told me that we were through doing business, she said she would get it fixed, then I should of read the fine print, then it is my own fault and now they will repaint the blue one after I pay the discounted price of the paint for the first job that turned out disastrous. Now can anyone see why I am confused?


P.S. I refuse to read fine print on everything that I sign. I will continue to make deals on a hand shake and yes I may get burned again but it will never happen twice by the same people.

Patrick is my painter and partner. On paper everything is me, but shop decisions are made by he and I. I did talk to him.. I asked him what we needed to do to make sure paintjobs would get better. He told me, and as I said before, those things have either been rectified or are in the process of being rectified. I also told Chris that if he wanted to bring the cars back when we had a booth we would repair them. Chris has never gotten back to me on that except saying that he thinks we are done doing business. If that is the case, I am sorry, but there's nothing more I can do. If your steak at a restaurant comes out too rare for you, the manager offers to bring it back and cook it up to the well done that you wanted it, and you say "no I'll just eat it", then that's your decision. But that doesn't put you in a position to write a letter to the newspaper saying the restaurant is horrible and doesn't know how to cook a steak.

And as far as "fine print" goes... Like I said.. I didn't hit you with a ton of paperwork. It's a simple disclosure at the bottom of the invoice. If I personally said I would paint a valve cover for you or something, that's a handshake kind of deal. This is a business, however, and we use invoices to track money coming into the shop and also to form contracts with customers.

Again, I will say that I did not post my picture of Chris's car to try and say that it is a show-winning paint job, or that it's flawless. I posted it so that people would see the car as a whole, not just the zoomed in imperfections. I didn't "plan" that shot or lay it out or wait for the light... it was outside cause I had washed and dried it and I thought "oh I would take a pic before it leaves". nothing to do with "best possible angle" or "best possible light".

That's not what your "Partner told me".

No.. he signed the invoice when he came to pick up the car. I told him the car was done, and it was painted. If he was not happy with the job, then he should not have signed, pointed out things that he was not happy with, and there would have been no problem at all... no hard feelings. But he DID sign, and I was very careful in the way that I worded the invoice, so it is simple and to the point. And he signed saying that the work was done to his specification (which was painting the car) and that the work was done to his satisfaction. He had all the opportunity in the world to inspect the car.

My dad has been a member on here for a while.. he was looking for a new car and I got tired of him logging in using my sn so I helped him make his own. LOl your right it does suck that i can't type,spell nor do i have any grammer.But what is really fu**ed up that is a mid school dropout can do better paint jobs and business than you will ever do.
