Here's a pic from my most recent trip to Jerusalem. This mosque is just to the right of the Dome of the Rock. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get close enough to get an unobstructed view of the Dome itself. In all honesty, I find this portion so much more beautiful... probably because of the stonework and the simple deep blue accents.

whats a Holga?

Yes it is a film camera. It is a medium format (larger negatives than 35mm) and made mostly of plastic. It is cheap and cheaply made. It is one of the widely used cameras in the "toy camera" craze. I won't worry about getting to technical about the camera but if you want more info on them let me know.

Here is a double exposure with a different Holga, my wife's camera. I used her camera because it has a built in flash and mine does not.

Very very cool. I got a Holga for my girlfriend a while back. They actually have an adapter you can put on to use 35mm film which is pretty neat.

just something i found interesting.....

So I looked into at what Sports Illustrated shot during the Olympics with their ten staff photographers there - SI shot over 300,000 images of which their staff kept 17,000. One of their editors took that down to 1046 “super selects” and then their director of photography Steve Fine, edited his selection down to 135 images. That means their “best of” turned out to be 0.045% of what they shot.

crazyness!

Thanks. I think i deleted the original. but im pretty sure i set my white balance to flourecent+ to bring out the blues. And obviously the shutter speed was long. was probably around f/8-10 (i think thats the sharpest f-stop for the lens i used). The tops of the towers are a little more blown out than i want but, you get the picture (haha pun intended)

While the branches appear to be distracting at first, think of it this way: They add some texture and repetition to the image because they mimick the shape of the waterfall. I think its a nice picture.

You cheated cause you have an EXIF reader on your browser :tongue1:
actually this time i didnt, i just know the kit lens does not produce bokeh of that magnitude unless you are extremely close to your subject and the back ground is pretty far, but even then it would be difficult to produce through a 18-55mm f3.5 kit lens..

Np theres a ton of info on that forum about camera's, lenses, shooting tips, different types of photos ect ect ect. Also if youre interested in buying anything camera related check out www.bhphotovideo.com (http://www.bhphotovideo.com) they have some good prices on there and a lot cheaper then any store I've been to.

Very nice dude! Ive seen some of your other pics on here that were also quality. Bout time you started postin up again.

Heres a couple I took today. The first one is an alley-way in Marietta Square, the second is Barrett Pkwy. Can't really appreciate em unless you've seen it hi-res. i had to dumb it down a little for photobucket. Really need to get a flickr or a smugmug acct.

I decided to take the camera into the woods while cutting some trees. The tree was about 75' tall. when he cut it he didnt wedge it and the tree split straight up the middle.
