Who cares though? That has nothing to do with the point here. I dont know about yours, but my car has a cool thing in-between the seats called a shifter...and it allows me to select a gear that puts me in a higher RPM range for when I need boost response and power. There are plenty of turbo 6's out there making 600 whp on pump gas.
I agree its more "convenient" to make low-end torque, and its easier to drive, but its not necessarily "better" if the car is setup right.
