I wasn't really trying to get all technical with my post.. but simply state that because I like 2 of their motors put together, I am not white trash.
I agree.. there are v8's the size of 2 4 cylinders put together.. 283's, 289's, northstars, mod motors. But they all run different rod/stroke ratio's, bores, valvetrains.. Just as a 11L mountain motor is still 2 banks of 4 cylinders.. it's still 2 sets of 4 cylinders in a v configuration
I definately have researched alot about the things that make a motor.. I prefer a short stroke, big bored motor.. especially in an ls1 application to unshroud the valve and get some more headflow out..
But.. you see it in the engine masters all the time.. stroker motors winning.. making the most avg power.. so I guess it just all depends on what you want.
But.. none of that changes the fact that in general displacement is king. I'm the type of person who always likes more.. more displacement.. more power.. whatever the case may be.
I, however, would not likely be considered white trash.. at least IMO.. and just because I like the idea of being able to run 7's in a streetable car because you have 700 cubic inches more than running 50lbs of boost, nitrous, and nearly grenading a motor.. does not mean I sleep with my sisterShoot.. if it were up to me I'd have a unlimited mile 2 year warranty shafiroff engine with a powerglide and a 9" or dana rearend.. one reliable 8 second car.. that i can likely makes hundreds of 8 second passes in with only minor issues
