the people that my statement doesn't apply to are generally ones that have some kind of faith in a greater being; otherwise whats the point, when you die you won't have to deal with the consequences of your negative actions.

I never stated my beliefs in this thread...the only thing I said was that I believe in the big bang theory over creationism. you keep coming up with these ignorant generalizations about the human nature(that's why your confused). Just because people don't believ in the bible it automatically means that we fuck over other people to get to the top of the food chain? I don't need a bible to tell me what I think is right or wrong...I make those decisions for myslef. Just because I dont think that I will go to hell if I "sin" doesn't mean I feel the right to go on a killing spree.

if competition is in our nature then the most natural thing that comes to mind is just to kill of the competition. why do we have emotions of compassion for someone else with no return, that makes no sense.

the bolded sentence makes no sense either, and sin isn't in your vocabulary if you don't believe in a god. right and wrong should be up to you and therefore there is no such thing as sin. what is the point of us "evolving" to humans if that is indeed what happened if we are to simply recreate and advance. thats what all of the other animals do, i don't see why there was a need to advance to our stage.

and i'm not talking about just the bible, i'm talking about any religion's text. it is a way for them to unite under a common cause and work together because even when everyone has different beliefs they will all conflict if we try to do things on our own and have billions of different religions.

the religion is not about the book... it is about feeling an honest connection to a higher being and feeling that you have a goal in this world and trying to make a positive change. if you don't realize that then you are beyond my efforts of trying to convince you otherwise.

it is honestly sad that you can think we are nothing but meat bags with no purpose but to have babies.
if i am in need of a favor, i would certaintly not want to rely on you as a friend to be there for me to help out
