I can understand the whole, make friends, have friends with you at shows concept, cause when I went with Elite to HIN Orlando I had a blast, without even knowing every one there all that well.

As far as actual car clubs go, I tried to get into a local car club called intense illusions about 3 years ago when I had my Sentra. I was broke and just wanted to hang out with my friends Josh and Phong when they went to meets, considering they were the people I was probably hanging out with anyway.

My cars have always preformed better than they look, and until I come across a car "club" that holds "all go, no show" in as high esteem as I do, I think I'll be riding solo.
It's kinda like a fraternity where you're just paying for drinking buddies. I understand the benefits but a majority of the people into the tuning aspect of cars run solo...i have no desire to be in a club but 7 days a week i can still hang out with tons of car people if i choose. Then if i want to be in a car show i can pay the entrance fee and go without having someone else hold my hand the entire way. It seems to be an image thing....i'm not into it to impress people, it's just fun to build up & fabricate something yourself and go run the shit out of it.

    Not really Jason.

Yes, there are clubs that have a ton of requirements and crap you have to do in order to be in it. The vast majority however is much like a bunch of friends that like to go to hang out together. If it's a show, good. If it's at someone's house, good. If it's on some parking lot somewhere, good too.

Point is that you guys are making a stereotypical judgement call on what a club is and isn't. Yes, there are gay ass clubs that require all kinds of things from their members and only the top guys see any of the "benefits" that come around. That's gay to me too. But as someone who's done both sides of the coin, I don't see how yall can stereotype ALL clubs as nothing more than some drunken frat house full of immature kids. Not every club is like that. As a matter of fact, 90% of them are not like that at all. Some of the top "teams" recruit their members by merely walking up to someone that is "solo" and saying, "hey, I like how you modded your car....wanna hang out with us?" (In a less than gay voice of course.... ). What's so wrong with that?

I know plenty of "GO" guys that have their buddies hang out with them at the track all the time. They meet up at the track and work on their cars and race and have a good time. The only difference is that they don't put a name on their car and call themselves a team. All the actions are the same, just no stickers. How's that any different?

There are plenty of "race" guys that do exactly that, so why the hate on the guys that do the same thing on the other side of the fence? Same shit different color if you ask me. What's the problem?

I know our team isnt no Frat Boy BS, thats for sure. People just want to bash what they dont know or understand. Many teams take this game serious, I know teams like what I am in, ECI, Allstars take the show side very serious, and at the same time give the people who choose other routes the full respect they want for thier work, but again, I cant see why people cant seem to get over the stereo types for our side and just appreciate what we do like we appreciate the work on the all go cars.
