Car Clubs unnecessary?

Comes down to a lack of respect people give to the show scene. But yet they want it from others, odd how that all works

I fully respect the time and energy anyone puts into their own cars, whether it be for show or go but the last couple years it's seems more and more people are leaning towards performance & automotive events...grip, drift, and drag over the show scene. The hybrid events are where it's at, it's reaches out and grabs the attention of everyone.

Personally I wouldn't have $20k+ into a Honda unless it could run [road track] lap times with just about any other car out there....but then i like car audio, electronics, and just about any other gadget but there is a point where it starts taking away from the performance & handling....too much weight and it's no longer practical. 35lb 19" wheels on a honda is not practical to me and neither is lowering a car anymore than a few inches...it has negative effects on the handling. I like the atmostphere at shows though, just not everything that is there.

speaking of practical what is the point of the metal on your front bumper??? snow plow, solor panel, new light weight racing alloy, etc...

see here is my point practical is always in the eyes of the beholder, even performance guys have stupid shit on their cars... seriously why do performance guys need decals, carbon fiber hoods that don't weigh less then stock, racing seats w/ harness but no roll cage, steering wheels that detach, etc etc etc... seriously practical can go both ways. nothing is practical in the tuning scene.

Practical is buying a car and leaving it stock :: Tuning is make practical better looks, sounds, performance

i am the same... i don't care if i buy a truck/suv/cycle/car... everything is better w/ mods... there is no car that is perfect from the factory that couldn't use something else...

shit my dream car is a Lotus Elise, but i for damn sure swapping that POS yota motor out for a K series, 1.8t, or bi-turbo

you want my [rant] WTF is up w/ drifting? seriously it has to be the gayest competition car sport to me... what is the excitement of watching someone burn tires? now yes it is a competitive sport not a spectator sport, but i've been in drift cars before, i would rather be doing a mountain run or street racing then doing that... i think i would have more of a liking for it is if it was on more of a real road course and not based out of parking lots... like drifting on a mountain side, like in japan... thats cool. you fuck up you die!!!

Downforce and looks, it's something differant that i fabricated myself (not a mass produced bodykit piece that anyone can just go out and buy) and provides enough downforce in the front that seems to promote a decent oversteer. The spoiler is aluminum with aluminum rivets...doubt it even weighs 1/2 a lb. yet the splitter is heavier than i would like but is really solid...plus most of the weight is 3.5 to 4" off the ground. You're right though, to some people that would not be practical.

My exhaust is not practical, it's too freakin loud and probably kills my torque (at least the topend) but i'll continue running like it is until i can get what i want, $884 Fujitsubo RM01a.

Decals are ridiculous unless that company is giving you something in exchange for the advertisement. I've always had Raceworks on my valve cover because that company has done so much for me, even though I work & crew for them and have earned most of it they've still given me alot and I stand behind what they do 100%. I recently put decals for another shop on the exterior of my car, AutoFab Motorsports...haven't decided if i want to keep them on there but i like the owners, their outlook & ambition, and i see alot of potential in what they do...i've also been offered access to another shop and services i can't get anywhere else so i chose to return the favor and promote them. If they can help me get the ball rolling on a few things i have been working on then i'll help them by referring people and giving them more business.
