I have stood by everything I said, Chris. I admitted that we took the cars in before we were ready to paint. We did. I personally told you that we would re-visit it when we had the booth up. Before you even came and got the blue car, you were talking about maybe holding off on bringing us another one until after the booth was off, and I agreed that was a good idea. If you have words to mince with Patrick, then take it up with him. He is a grown man, you are a grown man. If he said something to you that made you unhappy, don't expect me to play messenger for you.

My landlord IS in charge of the groundskeeping at the shop. We cut our own grass and stuff because we wanted to, but as far as clearing trees and whatnot, we weren't sure which trees he wanted to keep and which ones he didn't. Last week he came in and bulldozed the whole thing. So we said "ok!".

You want me to take responsibility? I have. I know what our mistakes were. Patrick and I have gone over them, and we either have them fixed, or are working on it. How many times I have to say that before it sticks is beyond me, but I will say it until it does. I have been ignoring people's attacks on Patrick because they are stupid comments that are made about someone who isn't even on this forum to defend himself. Pointing fingers? Isn't that what you did when you started this whole he said/she said catastrophe? If you really were that concerned about what I was saying, ask me. My phone is on me 24/7. It hasn't rang once. I find that interesting. In fact, you haven't talked to me directly since the day you picked up the blue car. The original thread that stay_up made was made quite a bit after that. If you were that upset about it, why didn't I hear from you? Not like you don't know how to get in touch with me.

What I do wonder is how the hell yogi would know things that only you knew. Hmmm... and I wonder how he got those pics. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out.

Fuck stance. Stance is for kids in skinny jeans with Justin Beiber haircuts. You don't need stance when you got swagger.

I pointed him to the thread because he asked what I was upset about. He felt compelled to post. He didn't make an sn on here to talk to people.. he made it so he could see attached pics of cars. Check his join date, if you're so concerned.

^ I can answer that for him.. I personal don't think he planned to do business with u after u release the cars looking the way they did.I made the thread because i thought he was done wrong.he was done with it and ready to pay some 1 else to fix the problems because why would he take it back to u again if you couldn't do it right the 1st time after being promised even more work if u done it right.

SO get it straight i was the 1 that brought it up, and i see why he was doenw ith dealing with u. considering there hasd been to threads long as fu** and u still don't get the point. HANGIT UP BEFORE YOU RUIN SOME i ELSES CAR AND THEY DON"T USE THE NET TO PROVE THERE POINT!!

If he said something to you that made you unhappy, don't expect me to play messenger for you.Once again no one is asking you to play messenger but the deal was between us remember? Why do you keep trying to send me to everyone else?

Pointing fingers? Isn't that what you did when you started this whole he said/she said catastrophe? Who needs to point fingers here? I know who did the work on my cars. If you really were that concerned about what I was saying, ask me. My phone is on me 24/7. But I already signed the paper. Geez. It hasn't rang once. I find that interesting. In fact, you haven't talked to me directly since the day you picked up the blue car. Why do we need to talk since Rockstar is doone doing business with me? The original thread that stay_up made was made quite a bit after that. If you were that upset about it, why didn't I hear from you? Not like you don't know how to get in touch with me. And what could you do? Your painter/partner refused to do any more work for me.

What I do wonder is how the hell yogi would know things that only you knew. Like what? and I wonder how he got those pics. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out. Ask Yogi who had the pictures first? I still have the email where he forwarded them to me several days before he posted them on here. You think he is the only one that doesn't hold a high opinion of you? You'd be surprised if you knew where they came from.
Your assumptions are not going very well so far. But your welcome to keep trying.

This is a prime example of what is wrong with society today. People are all too willing to pass the blame off on someone else or on b.s circumstances. One would think that in a situation where you're trying to get a business off the ground that you would do anything to rectify these issues and not resort to falling back on technicalities. Is this the kind of impression that you want others to have of your business? That you put out shoddy work and then hide behind invoices and contracts? Not only that but then there is the issue of pride in one's work. How can you be satisfied with putting out half assed work that is a representation of your business and your capabilites? How do YOU, as the OWNER OF YOUR BUSINESS, not want to tackle this problem head on? Why would YOU direct a customer to deal with the painter of YOUR BUSINESS when it should be YOU THAT TAKES THE INITIATIVE TO HANDLE PROBLEMS THAT ARE INEVITABLY GOING TO FALL BACK ON YOU?

This should be a lesson to you for all future dealings should anyone choose to entrust you with any kind of automotive work. Since it seems that much of your focus is on aftermarket modifications, which is already a shaky niche to be starting a business in anyway, you'll be lucky to get any business after a quagmire like this...

btw, sorry to hear about this situation. its unfortunate when you try out something new only to realize you just shot yourself in the foot. sometimes its best sticking to what you know works. like they have always said... if it aint broke..... don't fix it!

and also, why the hell would you take your cars to a place that looked like that? im all for helping out a friend and throwing some business to help out, but cmon, are you serious? you should have known better! i've seen your posts for quite some time and i know you are smarter than that. this wasn't one of your better decisions, but at least you know not to make the same mistake twice!

Then by all means, feel free to correct and surprise me. Who, oh who, would have taken those pictures of the shop? And if you go back and read his post about a certain incident that happened that you, my dad, and Patrick were the only people to see firsthand, well.. I think you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.

But anyways. This thread is done and stupid. The only time you will hear me contradict what Patrick has said when it comes to the business is me saying that if you want to bring the red car and blue car back, we will touch up and fix what we can. Since you keep insisting on posting pictures of the bottom of the bumper, we will get it coated for you, and I personally will break out my paint brushes that I use for fine art and touch up the molding where the tape didn't hold 100% on the red car, as well as busting out my personal supply of Back To Black on the window molding that still has dust on it. On the blue car we will fix the runs in the clear coat. That is me saying that we did do some things wrong, and we are willing to fix them (in case you wanted to try and say that I'm not standing up for anything again). I am leaving that up to you. The ball is in your court, and that's where it stays until you decide what you want to do and keep throwing what Patrick said in anger back at me. If you choose to bring them by, call me and we can set up a time to meet you there. If not, then best of luck to you.

I think they (rockstar) should just pay his repair bill for where ever he takes the cars and be done. I sure wouldn't want them to touch the cars again.

I think you should be more concerned with bugging the shyt out of BUGMAN to fix his cars than to be online telling HIM to contact YOU and arguing with other people.

i still dont think she gets it. and as bugman said, she probably never will. there probably would have to be an act of God for him to bring any of his cars back to her shop. even then, he still might defy God and say NO! once you've crossed a certain line, there is no going back. all you can do is try to save face. if your efforts to save face fail, well then, i hope you didn't quit your day job.

imo. give him a 100% refund and call it a day. that would show that you sincerely feel bad about this situation and might still be able to save some face.

I've never owned a business per se but if it was me in her position A. his cars wouldn't have left the shop until they were immaculate and common sense and pride would dictate that and B. I would have never allowed this shyt to get online because I wouldn't have given BUGMAN enough time to express his feelings about the situation because I would have made damn sure to do whatever the situation called for. POINT BLANK.

If the situation merited me working all day and into the night to make it right then dammit, that's what I would have done.

That's where you're wrong. His business reputation and credibility isn't harmed. Yours is. He may have to spend money to have his cars fixed but in the long run, your business is going to suffer. Better believe this isn't going to go away overnight and as many people that have seen this thread, word of mouth will travel quickly. You're a small business to begin with and that in itself is hard enough.

all of that should have been done BEFORE he picked the cars up. they shouldve been 100% before he was even called to come pick them up. your a shop, you should be able to realize quality work and something thats not quality.

See that's just it. Wanna know what time we painted the red mustang? Midnight to 4am. Why? Well for one, we were both awake, and for 2, we wanted as much flourescent light as possible. His cars left the shop because he took them. I didn't say "you must take them NOW" or anything. Patrick got mad and told him to come get the blue car, yes, but I have talked to Patrick about that. When Chris picked up the blue car, I told him to come back when the booth was done and we would work day and night til the paint jobs were flawless. He's the one choosing not to do so.

I just find it funny how she gave me so much crap for recommending a shop to someone that was looking for a $300 paint job. Its what he wanted, I recommended someone that does that and does a damn good job for $300. Yet she bashes me, the shop, and the guy for wanting a $300 job when her "shop" cant even turn out a job worth paying $100 for.

Although at this point I'm sure that it's too late to salvage anything out of the situation, your priority from the get go should have been about staying on him, even if you had to call 20 times a day, to try to fix the existing issues.

IMO those of us who aren't making personal attacks on you , are trying to get you to see how you could have handled things differently. It's really up to you how you choose to handle this. You can take it in stride, learn from your mistakes and move forward or you can keep battling everyone online thus making the situation worse.

I also told Chris that if he wanted to bring the cars back when we had a booth we would repair them. Chris has never gotten back to me on that except saying that he thinks we are done doing business. If that is the case, I am sorry, but there's nothing more I can do. If your steak at a restaurant comes out too rare for you, the manager offers to bring it back and cook it up to the well done that you wanted it, and you say "no I'll just eat it", then that's your decision. But that doesn't put you in a position to write a letter to the newspaper saying the restaurant is horrible and doesn't know how to cook a steak.
i'm going to have to object to that...

to keep along with your analogy, a rare steak isn't as subjective as you're putting it. There are criteria for what classifies a steak being rare. If the customer orders a rare steak and gets one that is not to spec, the restaurant is not fulfilling their end of the deal. The patron does not HAVE to accept another steak or a refund or whatever to be satisfied. For some people, the first impression is the last impression, and they have all the right to share their experience.

    just my 2 cents

hope you guys resolve the situation, but yeah, for any shop to prosper the customer has to be completely satisfied, in all honesty. I'd take the hit on the paint/costs, because having an unsatisfied customer would be an even bigger hit on revenue(given that this is a serious business) than the paint/materials themselves.

    Anyone with any sort of proper education from a business school or background would probably be awestruck right now. Entrepreneurship, business ethics, quality control, public relations, communications, etc... how can you fail in almost every aspect of a business so early into the beginning of the business? If I was a stakeholder and saw this, I'd be abandoning your business in a heartbeat. Seriously, you failed in literally every aspect of a business except for accounts receivable (lol). -_-;

And if you go back and read his post about a certain incident that happened that you, my dad, and Patrick were the only people to see firsthand, well.. I think you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. About you strapping your 3,500# car down with ATV straps? I did not know it was a secret and yes I did tell Yogi but it wasn't for ammunition purposes.

Since you keep insisting on posting pictures of the bottom of the bumper, we will get it coated for you, Why should that be a special favor? and I personally will break out my paint brushes that I use for fine art and touch up the molding where the tape didn't hold 100% on the red car, did you say paint "brush" on my car? as well as busting out my personal supply of Back To Black on the window molding that still has dust on it. Thanks for the warm wishes, you will never find me begging you to fix anything on those cars or any others that I have anything to do with.
    Thanks again!

    correct.

and it makes sense considering someone before me commented about how the car was painted by someone that was dumb, deaf and blind....therefore forrest gump (dumb), beethoven (deaf) and helen keller (blind)
