Okay...

The 2001 was a transition year. They changed the turbo and compression ratio mid year. They went from a K03 for the 2001 to a K03s for the 2001.5. They produced 150hp throughout the year though.

Then if we are talking mods. A few small mods and a chip will make the 2001.5 1.8T GTI run high 13's in the quarter and make over 200whp.

Also you are comparing a 2001 with a 2004.

If you compare it to the 2004 GTI the scion still loses. The GTI has 180hp and it runs 0-60 in 6.5 seconds.

Actually i am comparing the motors performance potential as a whole compared to your 1.8t...so its relavent

even if you were to compare the 2004, the scion still optioned out has an available TRD supercharger giving it more power. 212 according to TRD (193whp dyno proven)..YES THIS IS FROM THE DEALER...NOT AN AFTERMARKET PART. Thats all still under $20K...which the 2004 1.8t cant touch.

If you then wanna add mods to your VW, a $110 NST (9.5psi-10psi) pulley and a decent open custom exhaust job can get the TC into the 250+whp range easy and with a good driver be dipping in the 13's as well

Dont get me wrong, i do like the Golf, but your arguement is a losing one. The TC has your model year Golf beat in almost ever performance aspect stock for stock and even heavily modified. My point was dont hate on other ppls rides before you know what you're talkin ab...others shouldnt hate on your ride either

and i'm def not hating because mine in its present state is too old and much slower then both said cars bone stock
