The VW is more money because its German, and you are paying for the name brand as well no doubt a heep of options the TC doesnt even offer.
You may think its gay to have a Dealer equiped performance part on your car, but every other Company is doing it, from GM to Dodge to Mazda, toyota etc.....just because VW is denying their customers warrantied aftermarket parts/dealer options isnt an excuse to hate them all together...look at what GM and dodge are doing with theirs.....they are making HUGE POWER!!!
Your car in 2001 brand new wasnt anywhere close to a TC's price so there would be no left over..the TC in 2004 was $15k base....a 2001 GTI in 2004 would have still sold for more then that lol
So here are the scenarios:
Stock 2001.5 GTI 1.8T vs. 2004 Scion TC- Scion tC wins AGREE
2001.5 GTI 1.8T vs. TC with 3k in mods- GTI wins Partially agree, depends on mods ($2795 JSC speed turbo kit with an 18g makes just over 270-280whp @12psi...with tuning and an aftermarket exhaust (yes thats with stock catback) its easily in the 300's)
Stock 2004 GTI vs. Stock 2004 Scion TC- GTI wins WRONG how can you say that when i had already proved this wrong in my last post....the TC is stock with a Supercharger if so equiped.....its faster then a 04 in everyway???
2004 GTI with 3k in mods vs. TC with 3k in mods- GTI wins Partially agree.....but i still say the TC would be close to if not just as fast as the 04
either way my point has been proven.....i'm really not tryin to turn this debate into an arguement and or a magazine ricer war lol. Either the VW or the Scion are both nice cars and deserve their props for what they bring to the table
