The one and only! Yes, I've done several of those swaps and countless harnesses.

It depends on how far you want to take it. As a basic swap, I would probably recommend a 4AGE Blacktop (170hp)

How much am I looking at for that? Is a direct bolt in kit or will I have to do alot of cutting?

We would have to make you custom mounts and axles, but there wouldn't be any cutting of the frame or anything. You're probably looking at $2000 for the labor on the conversion, that engine set is around $1800 plus $350 for shipping, custom axles and mounts will be around $600, misc items I set aside $500, and then you want to think about what you want to do with the exhaust (we do custom stainless mandrel-bent exhaust here) so you may want to do that at the same time, and lastly, I recommend having us do a full reseal/timing belt/tuneup on the new engine before it goes in. So a whole swap would cost somewhere between $5000 and $7000, depending on what upgrades you choose and whatnot.

Sounds good. I would have to come down there, due to the fact I live in Az. But I would most definitly want to do this. I would love to have the fasted xB in Az. Would this engine fit a turbo too. Or will the engine compartment be pretty full after the swap.

    haha.

Well the concept of a youth division is just horrible IMO. I hate the designs of all of their cars. The xb is aerodynamically retarded. Its a brick. The tc just looks weird to me. Its something about the side of the car.

Also I have yet to see a clean scion. All the xb's that I have seen modified are RICE. The tc's are generally rice and the people that drive them are lame IMO. All the scion owners I know are tools. Thats only like 3 people, so its a unfair generalization I suppose. And all the modified tc's I have seen drive like ricers.

With a mindset like that, it's a good thing Tech doesn't do interviews.

You hang around rice boys, then you're gonna see rice. Hang around real car enthusiasts that have some taste, and you'll see show winning cars. It's as simple as that.

That's not a mindset, I am saying from the scions I have seen modified they are all rice. I am not saying ever scion is rice, but the ones I have seen are.

I do hang around real car enthusiasts. Every week. Those ricers are just people who went to my high school. I didnt hang around any of them, I just saw them at school.

You are not the general market. Scions sell very well, and the dealer only does a handful of Scion parts. the Xb is based off a concept called a micro-van. Which has been sold overseas for many years and has had the same success as coupes and sedans. You don't know many Scion people, so your right, bad generalization. some of them are not losers although admittedly some are.

The Scions are not performance cars, but, heh, neither is yours.

this is what the next TC is supposed to look like, supposedly

Mine really dosn't leave the garage. People across the street think it is a tool bench.

That's not the "new" tC. That's just the Release Series 3.0 version. The main difference is the Kenstyle lip kit. I believe the tC won't be redesigned until the 2009 model year.

Lol someone lied to you. Either that or some dealer was trying to take advantage of a naive buyer.

I was that friend. Atlanta Toyota. It was the oil change before my last oil change two weeks ago, I can dig the date up if you want.

It was modified by a Toyota dealership in Florida and had all the TRD options/dealer parts including the shortshifter with knob, S/C and exhaust. It also had a AEM intake and Oil Cap.

It was over 30k and had one previous owner.

The salesman (who for the record approached us) got really pissed at us when we went into the DC5/tC thing (He said "Honda should give you a midget so that when you go over railroad tracks it can push you") and noted that he was scared driving in RSX's because it had no power before i-vtec, and alluded to a belief that the tC was faster. When my other friend mentioned the cost of buying a used WRX or the like for under that price and it would be faster and such, he shut the hood (that he opened) in our faces and walked off. He had walked up and talked to us on his own accord; there was no intent to try and pick a fight with a salesman...even though I am Toyota loyal to the bone I was confused by how he was acting and his logic.

I've heard of that car. But I didn't know it had made it to the ATL. It's probably because they couldn't find anyone to buy it at 12k over the top-of-the-line stock price.

My roomate bought his for 21,500. He has every available option for it too though. He got it brand new 2005. the Base model in MT can be had with the TRD suspension and supercharger option for under 20k..its the Enkei wheels, leather interior, upgraded sound system, factory tint, power everything, etc that kills the price.....I have no clue why they would be selling it for $30k....they are def ripping somebody off....if there is someoen dumb enough to pay that much

I couldn't believe the $30K sticker. I had two friends there one of which is a mod on here.

Yeah this is nothing personal to any of you. We were comparing the two cars. Simply a friendly debate. Glad to see we are on the same page Sport20.

And I have a lot of respect for toyota in general. The Supra, FJ, Land Cruiser, Tundra, Mr2(until the current generation), etc. They are all well made, but I do not like the idea of them branching off into a new division. That's all guys.

i dont see how you can call the tC rice. when basically every car made now is basically rice. imho the tc's have for more potentioal than anybody gives them. my neighbor bought his tC bone stock and has since gotten the treadstone kit and a zpi turbo back exhaust. on street tires he ran 13.8 and beat anthony in his s.c. mustang the first time out at the SELOC/3S track day so theres your 3k. for 3k he got the entire turbo kit with 9lbs boost spring and is puting down over 260whp and has the potential to run mid to low 13's on drag radials and a stage two clutch personally a boosted tC will out perform a GTI with 3k mods in as i have driven a GTI and it really is slower than it feels. and i have raced a stock GTI and smoked it. its better than a straight line and better around the track. everyone has there own taste but personaly i dont see how you can come into another forum and sit here and beligerntly hate on someones car go back to GDM forums and stay out if you have nothing constructive to say other than to bas people for owning a scion

Okay well I never called the tC rice. I am saying that the ones I have seen modified have been riced out. That is not saying all modified scions are rice. I am sure there are some nice ones, but I am saying I have yet to see any.

Someone made the comparison of my car to a tC so we talked about that for a while. I didnt come in and say GTI owns tC bishes. Thats not how it happened.

I do however admit I dislike scion as I have said.

Yeah the only GTI you can smoke is an 99-01 1.8T...stock. All the others will beat the tC.

I didnt bash people for owning them. I didnt say just because you own one your a ricer or anything like that.

Note that my statement was saying the ones I have seen. I didn't say all scion owners are lame. I said the ones I see are generally rice.

yeah guys me and Kyle were just comparing/debating the 2 brands...no big deal. He doesnt like the TC, who cares....there are plenty of cars i cant stand lol....*RX8, Matrix, Beetle, Accord, etc"... its all personal opinion. Still though for every car i hate, there is someone out there thats into them and can pull off a clean version....so i'll always give props to ppl for being different

I know it could. They were asking the salesmen why would I pay $30K for this when I could get an STI or EVO? I dont think he had a good answer. Most salespeople know the features of cars they are selling but thats about it.
