^Sr's dont have quite as much instant torque as a ka-t, mine spins like a mofo on street tires shifting 1st to 2nd on low boost but I can roll into 2nd on high boost and it hooks up ok. But his 2871r is going to make more low end then my turbo, either way it sounds like his car runs good for what it is.

I don't have a 2871r, but everyone I know that has one loves them. The ones with the smaller exhaust housing are suppose to spool up really quick.

Hmm I figured a 2871r would be too small for an srt4, they start to run out of steam past 400whp. I bet one would spool crazy fast on an srt4.

Well I said close in size. Mine is "maybe" bigger but instead of ball bearing it has a lightweight wheel in it. flows 44lb spools lighting quick. made 417/473 on pump and meth so far

I must say i think the guy with the cobra was making false #s and you where doing rolls from 40? I layed down low 400 to the wheel and couldn't keep from stepping out at 60-70 a 40 race ends up in the ditch even if i started in 3rd.


^ oh! and slopos had a pretty quick car but i still couldnt see him running down a 600whp cobra and i think he layed down like 440

TS, what turbo are you running on your car that would be enough to outrun a KB Mustang like that? I have friends who make 700whp with that setup, with an insane tq curve. I have a tough time believing that this guy was making that much power if you beat him so easily. Something just doesn't add up.

there's no reason to hawk the details of the story. It's not hear say... im not guessing or taking anyone's word on what they had. The guy popped his hood, it had a KB on it. That's the only detail i know or provided about the mustang. The guy said he was running race gas. That could mean mixed... some.. all.. i dont know. I didnt ask.. because i dont care. He volunteered the info about race gas after we raced... i saw the KB with my own eyes. I didnt ask any other detail about his car. It pretty much went down like this..... I pull into the parking lot, walk over to the sonic and order me a strawberry limeade. I then walk around looking at the cars in the lot, recognize an old friend... stop and chat a minute, then said... " im gonna go pick on the mustangs " i walk over to a group of guys where 3 mustangs were parked... say " nice car, is that thing supercharged ", he says yeah. yeah, i have a gt2781r... appearantly this is something humorous... there's 4 different versions of the gt2781r... one with a 56 trim thats good for 475.... i suppose a 240 around 475 hp would be something to laugh about. I guess i need a bigger turbo to impress forum folks....

i believe you just awnsered our ?s right there, im assuming by you saying that a 475hp 240 would be something for us to laugh at that ,means thats about your power output, if so theres no way your beating a 650rwhp cobra by 15 lengths! my guess is you just raced a 99-01 cobra with a kenne bell which would be mid 4XXhp, which you would kill pretty easily thanks to pwr/lb ratio!

Even with Turbo P/N 743347-2 which is the biggest 2871r available, Compressor specs 53.1mm Ind wheel/71.0mm Exd wheel/56 trim/.60 AR, Turbine Specs Wheel dia. 53.8/76 trim/ .86 AR w/internal wastegate, and S trim Compressor housing (thats the 4" .50 AR) Garrett says is only good for 475 CRANK horsepower. So are you running 12.5:1 compression pistons? Alcohol? Something else exotic that we are unaware of?

Yes, it was an older cobra... chassis may not have been a cobra. It had a dohc in it and a KB sitting on top of it. I dont question people about their cars.... it annoys me when someone walks up to me and ask me every single detail about my car. This guy popped his hood because my friend asked him over the course of conversation, i walked over and looked at it long enough to gather that it had a KB sitting on it. That's an easy characteristic to get.

from my very limited ammount of detail people assumed all kinds of rediculous stats and turned this into a flame fest. Not one single person asked the years of the cars in question... yet from my understand almost every single person assumed it was a 09 gt500 with a KB. because that's a realistic assumption to make. Because those are details i would have left out.....
