If you truly want NO choice go with evolution. We were either created by God or we evolved. If we evolved there is TRULY NO CHOICE but to become extinct with the rest of the human race. No way around that. Its inevitable.
What we currently know about the deterioration of the earth would clearly tell the observer our form of life (human) WILL NOT be sustained here much longer. If you want to have some crazy wild faith that man can save himself go ahead be my guest. Its not possible. With evolution extinction is your ONLY choice.

God does give you choice. If we truly had no individual choice He may have already struck you (and I) dead for disobedience. You can choose to follow the principles of God and His will or follow your own will. You can do whatever you want, people do so everyday. The thing that is bothering them is the ACCOUNTIBILITY. Fact is every choice has its CONSEQUENCES. There is no way to make choices without the consequences of those choices. People WISH they could do whatever they wish to whomever they wish without any consequenses but that shall never be. People can hope for that all they want and it will never happen.

If you choose to follow God by living up to all the light he gives you, whether that be a little or a lot, you have the promise of eternal life. If you choose to follow your own will you have the promise of eternal death. All shall be judged.
Eternal burning torment is a figment of mans imagination. That is not a Biblical teaching. Make no mistake, there is anguish, disapointment, and punishment but the ultimate consequence for following ones own selfish desires is death, not eternal life in burning firery torment.

Also, your characterization of "Christian brothers were a little slow with the translation" being put to a firery death isnt at all what the Bible teaches although perhaps that may or may not be what you were taught. God is the only perfect judge. Every person judged in His court will get EXACTLY what they deserve. He is not willing that any should perish, He reaches out to everyone, many times in ways unique to that person. People either accept Him or do not. No one will fall short based on their knowlege. It's purposefully failing to live up TO the knowlege they DO have that will condemn them.

There is no such thing as "those that came before Christ and his word"
Christ and His Word are eternal. They have always been. He is OUR Creator.
There is no way to NOT have part of something you were created into. That isnt a choice ANYONE has. Fact is without God you wouldnt exist or be alive nor would you ever come to be. Same for all of us. We can either acknowlege our Creator, which seems to be the smart thing to do given the evidence around us, or not. Those are the choices we have.

There is NO way to avoid accountibility. And that is the real issue here.
You should go write a book....
