This is pretty ridicious and is real demonic theres a new movie comen out called the divinci code with Tom Hanks and for all who dont know the divinci code pretty much said Mary Magdelene was Jesus's lover but i wanted to know what yall think about it.........
I'd love to see the movie....it's important as a Christian to know the alternatives people turn to for the truth. I don't support the theory behind it, but I'm sure it'll answer a few questions I have.

I doubt "god" approves of 99% of the things we do as individuals as well as a society. I also doubt this one movie is going to condemn us considering how many people have DIED in the name of religion... Genocide... war... and so on.
I could give a shit less what people believe... Just dont go trying to present it as fact... As far as I'm concerned... Until i see a confirmation of what is told in the bible or any religious book for that matter... sources or other evidence... They have as much validity to me as the fictional book/movie in question.

oh and to clear up georgiamans dumbness, the da vinci code states that mary was jesus' WIFE and bore his child. not his lover, as that implies jesus was knockin boots with the whore, it states that mary was his wife and recast as a whore by the early church to get rid of traces of Jesus' more mortal life. read the book ftw.

It looks interesting. I'm sure I'll be entertained. On a Christian perspective, the problem we find is that people will find this as truth, which goes against what we believe.
I don't feel like reading the book for answers...so...where did they get the idea that Jesus and her were together? If the painting of the last supper is it, then that's pretty weak. Might as well believe that dogs can play poker.

The book was really great. Its neat to think about alternative possibilitys (not really seriously always) but who knows you know?

babowc, ive read the bible. at least the parts i codone and discuss. and maybe if the author of this thread took some of the time out of his busy day saving and converting the non chosen ones to learn how to read and explore the book, hed understand what it was about. the reason i say read it is this:
i can ask anyone what the bible is about. i wont know what it really says til i read it first hand. secondhand, and personal paraphrasing is nothing more than gossip, and gossip is for little girls. and hopefully yall arent little girls, but i question it because he(she?) is all bent out of shape over a damn movie. and get this, this isnt the first time this belief has been published, and not the first time a movie has been made, there are literally hundreds of renditions, ie. the last temptation of christ.

i dont have to read a book to know what it is about and if you are a true believer of The bible and Jesus himself then this contridicts your beliefs and i may have been alittle out of line on calling it demonic but those are personal beliefs and i was not saying moral bound non christian are with the devil but i was simply stating the quote frm the bible if your not for God you are against him and this is not somthing i just believe.....its something i know (through expierance) its not sum my parents drilled into my head from years..... its stuff i seen and heard.

read it...its a good book. actually start with angels and demons, its the prequel sorta.
and remember that the bible was not written by jesus or god. it was written by men and re-written by men. stories told and retold.

I thought it was a very good book. The movie prolly will not be near as good as the book as with most movies based on books.
The idea that this book\movie presents is very interesting. I dont really believe one way or another if there is any mega being or not. I am what most would call "on the fence" I love religious theroy such as this story.
IMO the book presents a more real sounding story\history than the bible does.
well, of course with most hollywood pictures, the films are fictional or are altered for more audience.

I didn't read the previous 3 pages so this is all I have to say(like it or not), I'm gonna watch it and ya know why? IT'S A MOVIE and I like to be entertained.
The Bible was written, edited and re-written by men. According to the Catholic Church, parts of it still haven't been translated. A new section of the "bible" was discovered and translated not too long ago that depicted Jesus "telling" Judas he would betray him. I'm not entirely sure, but doesn't that statement render Catholicism useless? Organized religion is the most misguided institution known to man. The Bible says not to judge and then says "he who isn't with me is against me" or whatever. What about the people in the middle who just don't give a shit? If Jesus existed and is who everyone else says he was, then that is great. Like the Bible states, all I have to do is ask for forgiveness and it will be granted. If the Bible is bullshit, then I get to be the guy on the other side of the fence saying "I told you so." The Bible is the perfect setup for dissappointment IMHO.
There are many things that "render catholicism useless"...tampering with the Bible, editing it to suit their tradition is only but one.

My parents flamed the crap out of me for reading this book...they attend church every sunday and they have given up on trying get me to attend church lol.

If the Bible is true however the non believer who never sincerely repents is screwed. Therin lies the REAL setup for dissapointment.
So you're telling me that the bible has had no effect on how you've lived your life to date and if it turned up false you wouldn't want to go back and change things? My problem with the Bible is that it DOESN'T give you a choice. "He who isn't with me is against me...and going to spend eternity in hell or some jazz." Repent sinners for you do not know the whole truth and will spend an eternity in hell because your Christian brothers were a little slow with the translation. That IMHO is a crock o shit. What about those that came before Christ and his word? what about those that don't want any part of it. If the Bible is law, then it should only apply to it's believers.
