A question for the church people...?

this is probably a record. i actually agree with u in the religion section.
My question is y does church subjects or talk about the bible always piss off ppl who dnt believe? Why is it never treated like ne other random conversation? even if they are not try ing to "convert" u over just talk about something they found interesting the past sunday.

i don't think it has anything to do w/ pissing people off more than its TMI. do you tell a complete stranger how you penis is small and you like to jerk off to gay porn??? probably not, religion is a very personal thing w/ most people and is very known for being a touchy subject. sometimes things are better off not said.

now if someone like myself who isn't christian just took it as random converstation and said back to him, "thats great, pray for a good tip"... well i think he would of gotten offended, so i just keep my mouth shut b/c discussing religion w/ my waiter in most cases isn't ideal.

Thats my question. y is religion a touchy subject? Its like how do u know whatever u talk about wont be considered touchy to whoever u mention it to? its just a chance u take. But with religion its always better not said, why?

but see thats my point... what may be offensive to me isn't what offensive to you... as w/ religion, it is better unsaid... you took it as me attacking him yet i don't pray so i don't understand nor are you me so you don't understand my point of view... so on the side of caution in most cases you don't talk religion w/ complete strangers that you don't even know their names yet have even taken their drink order

you know we live in a "christian" society i've learned along time ago that opening my mouth in such situations is a open invitation for issues b/c most christians can't handle the fact non christians exsist. i get a kick out of it... best words i've heard on this situation, "NEVER LET THEM KNOW WHAT YOU ARE THINKING" - GODFATHER

Thats true and i think i understand ur point. I dnt think u really understand what im saying. Religion is not meant to be offensive to ne body but its always taken that way and i dnt understand y. Well at least christianity ne way, i cant speak for religions i know very little about.

i can tell you get a kick out of it. the ppl that are all freaked out trying to beat in in ur head that u have to do this or that are stoopid. I wouldnt waste my time and they deserve to be punched in the throat. Just like they chose to belive "so they say" u have a choice not to.

Why is it so hard to say "i am not religious, sorry" and just leave it at that?

Why is there that "fire" inside of you ready to lash out at religious people who may have just been trying to make conversation?

Did the waiter actually say that "YOU should go to church and pray everyday?"

Do you smoke? If you were a non-smoker, would you also get offended at people when they say "want a cig?" Do you feel the need to say to them "fuck you smoker !! Stick that cig. up your ass !! Do I look like a smoker to you?"

Why is it that because it is a "belief" all of a sudden it is taboo and should not be out in the open? Do you verbally attack all democrats / republicans because of their "thinking" and "belief" too?
