A manager at Willy's told me that he used to work at Moe's and they would just open up a of can tomatoes and just pour then into a pan and serve it just like that, and the rest would follow for many other items. Where in Willy's we would cut the top off the tomatoes, cut the bell peppers, make salsa from scratch, and so on
i cant say i believe that. I make my own tomatillo salsa at home and ive tried it a few different ways trying to duplicate Moe's salsa. Ive roasted fresh ones, used canned ones, purchased premade, ect... i dont doubt that they may use some prepackaged ingredients, but i know theyre not just opening bags like Applebees or a place like that. You can taste the fresh cilantro in the salsa, it also varies from day to day, its not 100% consistent, sometimes its more chunk than other days ect.. all signs pointing to being homemade.
