I am not saying you are ignorant in general, 1439/2000, but I am saying that your statement displays ignorance. When sport compact drag racing first started more than a few people could not figure out why anyone would want to race a Honda Civic hatchback. Now, there are Civic's with 800 hp and just as much torque thanks to a turbo. So, yes, a car CAN be fast with the help of a turbo. It doesn't mean that every Lancer RA out there with a turbo will be super fast but it is possible.

Now, you say it will be slow but, as I stated before, slow is relative. For instance, my car (Evo 8) is slow in comparison to a race-prepped C5-R. It depends on what you are comparing it to. 240 hp might be all someone wants in a car and that is fine. So, to them their car isn't slow. For me, I want only 380-400 hp at the wheels with my car and that really confuses some people. They say that since I have an Evo I should put 600hp to it and make it really fast. The fact is, 400hp is all I want and that is a great compromise between drivability, reliability, and performance.

Seriously, just from a respect point-of-view, you shouldn't go around saying peoples cars are generally slow without even seeing it nor riding in it. The same can easily be said of a 15 year old 4-door Galant unjustly.
Except I'm turbo, awd and run 12's. Mitsubishi made my car fast(for the day) stock. Mitsubishi produced the Lancer to drive to the grocery stare. While a turbo lancer with 240 to the wheels may run a high 13 on race gas. You can't polish a turd, you can make it quick, but its still garbage. How is that a difficult concept to grasp? It's not an ignorant blanket statement. The point is why spend money on that car if you want to go fast? Get something that can easily be made fast for cheaper if you want speed. If you want a daily buy that. If you want a mediocre ride that doesn't handle weel or look good, yes, turbo a lancer.

Now, you have 30 posts and you are saying some pretty intense things about me throwing out ignorant statements and talking about how much I know about cars when I have never met you, never talked to you, you read one post and you know everything about me and make the assumption I'm some jackass kid that doesn't know anything about balance on a car. Mind boggling.

And show me an 800 ft lbs of torque Civic, please.

1439/2000: 12's aren't terribly fast for an awd car. You should probably look into upgrading to something faster that looks a little better.

Actually, the 800 was in reference to the HP, I believe the car in question (the Full Race black civic) has something like 600-700 torque. Sorry to "inflate" the numbers because 600-700 probably isn't nearly as impressive to you. Keep in mind that this is still a street-driven car. Neither here nor there as that is just nit-picking.

It wouldn't matter if I had 1 or 1,000 posts. Your original statement was indeed ignorant. The same thing you stated about me not knowing you personally can be said about your statement related to the turbo RA. You can't rightly knock a car until you have seen it or ridden in it in person. I am glad you have learned something from this discussion!

lol I didn't buy the car for speed, it has style, its a classic, you can't knock it.

You can't rightly knock a car till you've ridden in it or seen it huh? Wow a contradiction in 1 post.

1439/2000: Wow, subtlety isn't lost on you.

Umm, yes I was just giving you a dose of your own medicine if you couldn't figure that one out on your own.

Actually, I like Galant VR-4's but I do not they look good or have style in the least. They were cool cars for their time but their time has long past. It doesn't matter, however, what I think because I am not driving the car. You enjoy it and that is what matters. Think about that next time someone with a Lancer RA wants to boost it and posts asking questions of such.

If the above doesn't explain my intentions with these posts to you then I am done. At that point you would be impossible to reason with (or more difficult that I am willing to deal with).

See, you're new to IA. Here nobody cares. You are not trying to reason with me, you're not going to give me an internet ettiquette guideline either.I'm not agreeing with you here. It's my opinion and I can throw it out. You could rag on my car all day long and I wouldn't care in the least. It's the internet.

You are right, I am new to this particular forum and this is the internet. I was actually hoping that IA would be a tight-knit online community because it is location specific. Judging by your "I don't care" attitude and the fact that it seems to be accepted here (nobody but me flamed you) It seems I grossly overestimated how things work. You are less than a proper ambassador to those whom are new to this forum.

I am accustom to certain online forums where people actually help others and relevant info is discussed. Members tend not to flame others for their likes and dislikes and, when they do, they are flamed right back. This keeps this type of petty behavior in check and keeps the forums thriving and striding in the proper direction.

I am disheartened to hear that this forum isn't like that. I guess I will either stay on and confirm that your attitude is the norm or I will go back to the other forums and drop this account.

My question to you is: why are you here if you really don't care? You seem to have nothing positive to contribute besides your off-handed remarks (I haven't seen all of your posts, however). Regardless, just curious as to why someone who really could care less is on a forum at all? I guess it is the leech mentality...
