    Default engine builder needed

ok guys don't flame me beause i'm new to the board sorta and i don't post much.

i've only been here 4 months and i haven't been here long enough to know anyone personally or any shop.

i'm not looking for any deals or hookups but what i am looking for is someone the really knows there stuff when it comes to building a high horsepower turbo engine. someone that i can talk to for advice and also build a strong motor.

parts i can get them myself all i need is someone that can put it all together and make it run

also the person you suggest needs to be capable of working with any type of motor. not a typical motor that you can jus jump on any forum and build it
example: like a honda motor (nothing against hondas ok folks)

jus need someone that can do it right the first time

    thanks for your input

i build honda/acura motors. tell me what you need done if that is the motor you need done.

I build NA motors, but i have a few turbo motors coming up that i have to assemble. I measure Ring gap, bearing clearances, piston to wall clearance if you have forged pistons, i can degree camshafts if you need it done, measure roundness of bore, etc.

you cant just jump on a forum and build a honda engine. there are tricks to putting any engine together. its a numbers game. tighter or loose bearing clearances affect power and longevity, ring gap affects power and ring seal, etc.

what engine do you want built?

OK are you talking about the 4 bolt main, quad cam, kl03, 2.5 liter?

are you looking to stroke it using honda rods, machining the crank journals to accept said rods,( thusly creating a stroker motor ) and inserting custom sleeves at a larger ( 3 liter displacement ) size? effectively makeing it a 3.3-3.4 liter, capable of holding over 30 psi.

If so I am looking to do something alone those lines myself.

If not sorry to have disturbed you.

Do you have a phone number?
Btw you would be surprized how cheaply just the stroker part can be done and as i have no money to be invening custom sleeves I would like to just get the crank offset ground to accept
JE PISTONS part# 185918 which are for B16A3 Honda engine
EAGLE RODS part# CRS5290H3D which are also for B16A3

Stroke and grind the crank and I will have a 2.8 KLZE. Compression will be 8.8:1.

yeah thats what i need, but 6 of them. And the crank has to be offset ground to the out side so as to make it a stroker set up, then the block has to be bored .20 over and assembled. Nothing to fancy. What would that look like price wise?

pistons would prob be around $600-650 as a set of 4 runs $450.

As far as offset grinding a crank, that is a little tricky. i dont know how much taht would run, ill have to ask Jim

.20 bore, most machine shops charge $100-140 for bore/hone

I charge $700 to assemble and blueprint/balance a Honda motor (that includes assembling the head as i usually have to install valvesprings and cams and valves)

i would have to look and read up on this mazda engine as i have never built one. althoguh and engine is an engine, as long as its not a BMW

nope i don't want parts i have to modify, you might be refering to the guy that lives in tuscaloosa, al

just to let you know pauter makes rods for our cars and ross makes pistons they go in with no modifications

well mine already has the VRIS gutted, and the head, I have a set of klze heads with czt springs retainers, locks, all i need is a port and polish and maybe a valve refinish on those. I will be reusing my HLA's and of course assembly. the block is your average v6.

And I was aware of the pauter rods, but as you are goin turbo and as they are no longer made ( hard to get now ) i would think you would want h rods?

yep those are some thomas knight specs (knight turbo)

to much modification to the crank and journals to get those parts to work for me, they will work but i don't want to compromise the crank in anyway to make them work jus to get cheaper rods and pistons, the money you spend on modifications (machine shop) you could put towards the more expensive rods that bolt right in. (pauter) i think are around $1,100.00 shipped

oh twin turbo 6 i use to be twin turbo too about 4 1/2 years ago had the setup on my car for around 2 year took it off because i kept having problems with the turbo on the rear bank (oil drain issues causing it to smoke) now i have a turbonetics t-62 ball bearing

i still have my twin kit in my garage probally gonna put it on my other car

can the pauter rods hold up to 20 psi?
And where did you find them, I was told they are in rare supply.
Plus thats the size of the journals on a honduh and some of those make 600 plus horse power, can't be too bad....
