Where do yal get exhaust work done
Where do yal get exhaust work done
anyone know a good place/person to do fender rolling and pulling? i have a have a not so round wheel opening so i am going to guess it will be more difficult than most others......that and i am 99.999% sure there this has not been done on my application let alone who ever would be doing the work
what car do you have??

you said rolled/pulled... anyway... Why so wide? Is it really needed?
Two of the most homo cars on IAFaggin' Wagon & Queer Kar
well i meant rolled and pulled. is it needed no but not spinning thru 3rd would be nice. plus the stance will be pretty sick
well i don't spin thru the top of 3rd but i spin in 3rd. and im talking with a buddy about a big(er) turbo setup right now so that's just going to compound the traction problem
You know what fixes that? AWD....
hehehehe What's your current setup/power output?
Two of the most homo cars on IAFaggin' Wagon & Queer Kar
lol...yeah i'll do like the tiburon did and just throw another engine/tranny in the back
stock turbo (for now), catless dp, intake, ic pipes, ic, custom tune with hp tuners. on 93 325ish whp and 375ish wtq....e47 350ish and 410ish
talking with my tuner about the turbo stuff right now. we're talkin 3076 or 35xx right now....maybe 5557. this will be a one off custom setup. would do an efr if i could get one![]()
e47- You must be doing your own 50/50 mix of "corn." If i had to guess (based on personal tuning experience), I'd say your doing that (versus straight E85) because you ran out of injector? What's the limit on the bottom end- 450? IIRC the pistons are forged so the rods are the weak link in those motors?
I've not looked into the EFR's but I've heard good reviews about them. Can you guys incorporate an external wastegate with the factory turbos or no?
EDIT: the pistons are cast. the rods are forged. IDK what I was thinking when I typed that....

correct...e47 is 50/50. well the lnf is di so don't really run out of injector rather rail pressure. the low torque spike commads our max rail pressure..2800psi...so the blend helps u cheat that. since it cuts the needed fuel down to apprx 15% more vs. 30% more on e85. if done right on a safe tune and safe timing....you can do 500 or more on the stock bottom end.....some say pistons are weak link...others say rods. one blew a rod at 609whp and had over 400 dyno pulls and 100 1/4 passes on the same stock bottom end before it blew that rod....but that was a shop car so go figure.
efr's are the shit:
efr 6758 on custom bolt on exhaust housing, full bolt ons, e85
i suppose u could run an ext wg on the stock turbo but no one has to my knowledge...really no need.
Is there an affordable solution to the rail pressure problem?
vieo is pretty cool. needs awd![]()

affordable.....well there is a solution lol. so here is how it works...we have an in tank fuel pump and then a mechanically driven high pressure fuel pump that feeds off of a lobe on the cam. zzp the company in that video makes a cam with an upgraded hpfp lobe.....matt from zzp is running these cams in that video i forgot to list that. and they can be had for the sum of $850
there is another more complex solution that zzp has developed as well. adding a single 60 lb/hr injector in the im controlled by a progressive meth controller. have no idea what the cost of it is tho. zzp recommends the cams they say it is easier to tune for lol
When I see SS, I automatically think of the F-body camaro which IMO, is a redneck mobile. I've yet to see a performance oriented built HHR. Do you have any pictures of yours? In the video, it appears those were built utilizing a CVT transmission? If so, has anyone found the limitations of this transmission?
as a tuner, I can understand.... Fuel volume increases with airflow not necessarily air pressure so the meth controller makes sense at first but there's a reason why just adding another injector as a form of tuning was stopped about 10yrs ago. lol
You running a fmic or is the aftermarket unit still a TMIC style?

haha gotcha....the tranny in the vid is an upgraded stocker, 5spd with 4.45 instead of the cobalt's stock 3.85 (i think) ratio. the stock tranny becomes a liability at around 450ft/lbs just have to be careful. now the hhr has a 4.05 ratio which the larger final drive creates less strain on the gears so i have a slight advantage. i will be going to the zzp stg2 with the 4.45's at some point.
not mine but mine is silver too
generally what my engine bay looks like but a little narrower and my intake is different (sri). i have the same injen piping tho and i made my sri out of this injen cai.
there is a guy running the cams and the extra injector putting down 541whp on a borg warner s256 @ 29psi but this guy spent an easy 20k on his entire build if not more. idk...it is a method that does work they (zzp) just says its more complex
the turbo cobalts/hhrs come stock with a fmic...tho it has plastic end tanks and gets heat soaked rather easily. i am running a tr10 treadstone unit...rated at 666hp and the core is 809ci.
What is your goal with the car? Simply go fast in a straight line I'm assuming?
not necesssarily. i mean i don't autox or anything but just an all around performer. i will be doing coilovers and the wheels and tires, eventually a built motor and the upgraded tranny, upgraded brakes, bigger turbo. i want 500whp....be able to run low 11's (the possiblity of 10's is there but im trying to be realistic), have great handling and braking, look good and have a mean stance.
i may hold off on the wheels for a bit cause i found a turbo kit for sale with a pte5557 dbb with tubular manifold...complete kit for sale on one of the forums that i am going to make an offer on. if the guy accepts the offer the wheels will be on hold.

Nobody in here has 14/15" steelies they want to sell do they?
I know damn open deck 205's.... The bores are in fantastic shape with only 30k miles on it. I wanted to do a set of drop ins, but I just can't get enough miles out of a set. Especially if I'm not gonna machine the block and get perfect PW clearances....
The stock slugs should support the 350whp I plan on making. For awhile anyway. lol

Do it now or kick yourself in the ass later.
At 40k miles a year it wouldn't last but a year to a year and a half... I hope to build something next year (late 2012- early 2013) anyway so I'm not too concerned. I'll roll the dice on the stock internal 205![]()
Two of the most homo cars on IAFaggin' Wagon & Queer Kar
With what you're doing with the car, I could see that. If it was a second car, that ~40k miles could spread over a few years.
exactly. I guess it wasn't until a few days ago that you realized how much I actually drive. lol
I may keep rocking the exploder and dad's car and drive the wagon 2-3 times a week to keep miles down. If i'm successful at that I will be more comfortable with a forged internal motor...

I wouldn't do it without AAA. lol
