    Default The 240sx... project?

I know it's been done before. Just showing the slow progress...

Now I can put my big drag radials on some lightweight wheels and get skinny wheels for the front, instead of whatever I can find that's 4x114.3. The car is monster trucking partially because it's monster trucking, but also because no engine/trans in at the moment.

Nothing wrong with improving the world you live in. If we left things as they were, we'd all be living in caves and cooking over a fire. Man is smarter than that.... we look at things that need improvement and fix them.....

Thats why we now have microwaves, showers, tvs, boob jobs.... and the ability to put an LS1 in anything that didnt come with one.

When you improve something, you keep the original and make it better. You don't replace it to make something feel inferior. I wont thread jack again to prove my point.

You are absolute right. However, that particular H23 will bolt right in using stock mounts without modification. Mounts have to be fabricated for a V8 to be shoe-horned into a car it was never designed for but I do see your point.

The LSx is a fairly small package (ha!), so it's not too bad. It'll have just as much or more room as my Trans Am in the engine bay.

the first picture doesn't show us if it's a 4lug or 5, for those of us that not well versed in the 240 world. Are they brakes 300zxtt brakes or 350z since your using a 350 wheels?

You'll have to take my word for it being 4 lug previously! And they're 300zxtt brakes as far as I'm aware. The 350z wheels were just part of the deal... can't imagine I'll be keeping them.

Just giving ya hell. I didn't have a camera for a little while, so all of my "update pics" are on my phone. Kinda pointless since it takes a long time to upload them. Thanks, man!

Sinfix, just now saw that post. I appreciate the offer, but I'll be putting drag wheels on the car. I'm hoping to find some Weld Alumastars or Billet Specialties at some point.

    Update:

Got the Edelbrock carb intake manifold

    MSD Ignition control

Aside from gauges, this will be all the wiring for the engine!

    Motor mounts

All you see is the mounting plate, but I have the Prothane polyurethane mount kit, and I'm making the bottom half from 1/4 steel plate.

A carb'd LSx in the 240? hmmm, I guess that's cool. Any reason for that over EFI?

Should have stayed EFI in my personal opinion. Otherwise, I'm pretty interested to see how this goes.

Carb setups generally make 30-40whp over the LS6 intake (for those not familiar, that's the C5 Z06 intake manifold). Being that I have a DD and a bike, there's no use in sacrificing power for fuel efficiency, in my opinion.

It's not even about fuel efficiency, it's about the fact that with EFI it will start up every time, and the fact that you can fine tune it's characteristics WAY more accurately. ESPECIALLY if you plan on using any giggle gas.
    Who knows?

Bah, I like I what I've been reading about peoples carbed setups. On top of better power, it will look a lot cleaner with a fraction of the wiring. I've never really had a problem with any of my carbed cars not starting, anyways. Patting the gas and choke works wonders, lol.

Just put a ls1 in a 240 2 weekends ago, not really shoehorned, tight but not bad at all
