here is a few thing the owner said
"the entire motor is fully built and can handle it.
the person driving was the builder/tuner,he's the only one that we know and trust with tuning the ems.
the cluch was a dcr power shift v.2 clutch, commonly called the powerslip or powersh][t,but darrel himself looked over the photos, and is taking car of it,refunding the money for the $700 for the clutch,he says he has another low mile tranny at the shop,we are hoping he throws in one is his $1000 aluminum intake mani's and he is going to take care of everything else as well once the car is all takin apart.
and revving that high isnt a problem for the car at all,and most other fully built srt's the turbo at the time was a turbonetics 50trim with a .63 exhaust, the main turbo is a borg warner s256 which on a simlar set up made 516 wheel hp @ 26psi.
the car was already sub 600hp but after all this the hopes are even higher."
here is the actual post if you want to read up on it

What happens to an SRT-4 at 8000rpm? The same thing that happens to an RX-7 at 50,000 rpm...
When will they ever learn? Idc what you do to it, it's still a dodge!

lmao its pretty sad that the clutch/flywheel can't handle 8k rpm. A stock civic dx clutch will handle 8k easily.
Lesson of the day: Dont drive anything made by a car manufacturer whose name means to avoid.

the point people are missing is why did he feel the need to rev it to 8k when his powerband maxed out around 6k.
^^^ PICK ME!!! I KNOW!!!! The answer is because...
revs for the sake of revs > usable revs

I wouldn't drive a civic, and I surely would NOT drive anything made by dodge.

Judging by the name you just seem adverse to real power. This guy was an idiot and shouldn't have revved to 8k. The car doesn't need it and I get plenty of power shifting at 5500 to 6000.Originally Posted by allmotoronly

Brilliant
Oh, and I am not a dodge enthusiast. I actually hate my neon but It's quick and fun. It should be rwd or awd. but for a sports car, its hard to beat stock for the price

ok her is the guy excuse when he was driving the car
"Today I finally raised the rev limit on the Orange to 8000 (EMS, forged pistons, rods and BC3 cams). I've shifted at 7500-7700 a few times today; no more than 15 max, and only twice at 8000 (to get it on video). I was on the way home tonight, got the itch and stood on it in third gear.
At ~7700, I started pushing the clutch pedal down. About a quarter of the way down, the clutch pedal went limp and slammed to the floor. At the same time, I watched something shoot through the hood, the engine died and a smoke trail followed me until I pulled over to the side of the road. Luckily, the smoke was from the transmission fluid covering the exhaust, not a fire.
I called AAA for a tow, then collected pieces of the DCR stage II clutch from the roadway while waiting. The transmission, clutch, intake manifold, radiator fans, radiator, hood and engine harness are destroyed. My friends saw the whole thing from about 100 feet back. Lots of sparks, parts flying, tranny fluid everywhere. The clutch had about 2000 miles on it."

adverse to real power??? lolololol. How the hell do you know what I have and what power it makes?Originally Posted by stillaneon
It has everything to do with dodge. They chose to use that engine. Who cares who built it. Its in a dodge vehicle. It's their reputation on the line.

Very true about the engine part.Originally Posted by allmotoronly

Dodge didnt put their name on it, recommend it, endorse it, or tell the guy to put it in his car. The stock clutch is fine. I'm putting down 320hp on pump gas and still using my stock clutch with no problems. So before you bash something at least know something about it.Originally Posted by allmotoronly

right?
Hmm, I read somewhere that the A853 was a Mitsu motor. oh well cant find it. thanks for the infoOriginally Posted by atlsrt44

i bet the flywheel bolts werent torqued, and maybe came loose, and just caused all hell. i dont think it has nothin to do with the car, it was something someone did when they put it back together.
