ah yes a comparison to the mighty civic

the point people are missing is why did he feel the need to rev it to 8k when his powerband maxed out around 6k.

you mean a comparison to the UNmighty civic. The point I was trying to make was that a 98hp base model civic comes with better stuff from the factory than dodge's top of the line sport compact.

I wouldn't drive a civic, and I surely would NOT drive anything made by dodge.

Judging by the name you just seem adverse to real power. This guy was an idiot and shouldn't have revved to 8k. The car doesn't need it and I get plenty of power shifting at 5500 to 6000.

It has nothing to do with Dodge considering the motor is made by Mitsubishi,

    Brilliant

Oh, and I am not a dodge enthusiast. I actually hate my neon but It's quick and fun. It should be rwd or awd. but for a sports car, its hard to beat stock for the price
I'm just that guy that spends all his time printing.... T-shirts, banners, vinyl, etc.

adverse to real power??? lolololol. How the hell do you know what I have and what power it makes?

It has everything to do with dodge. They chose to use that engine. Who cares who built it. Its in a dodge vehicle. It's their reputation on the line.

wtf does this have to do with dodge?? you may worship imports but you missed a crucial part here. HE HAD AN AFTERMARKET CLUTCH NOT MADE BY DODGE. Dodge didnt put their name on it, recommend it, endorse it, or tell the guy to put it in his car. The stock clutch is fine. I'm putting down 320hp on pump gas and still using my stock clutch with no problems. So before you bash something at least know something about it.

also its not a mitsu engine

wft are you talking about???? I don't worship imports. I actually own two americal made vehicles, and as of yesterday, no imports. I understand that he had a aftermarket clutch. Its still funny that when the clutch came apart it did all that damage. I've had a cluch come apart before, and it didn't do anything but scar up the inside of the bellhousing.

My original arguement was that a stock civic clutch was better than whatever that guy had, stock or not. My main point was that for a 4 cylinder, those engines don't rev very high. The fact that **** comes apart at 8k is just funny to me. I dont care how much HP you make in your SRT, its still a neon. the average person can't tell the difference between a SRT4 and a base model neon.

I'm not sure you even know what your point is. So you've had a clutch come apart before and not destroy your engine bay. Big deal. You want a cookie? I guess that means anytime someone pops a clutch it shouldnt do damage right? And I dont recall you mentioning anything about the engine not revving high in your previous dodge bashing, but still fail to see what it has to do with anything. srt4s make plenty of power keeping it under 6500 so why do they need to go any higher? If I wanted to rev to 6million rpms I'd buy a rotary. As for people not knowing the difference between a srt4 and a neon, could it be because a srt4 is a neon? but then i guess dodge is the only one that builds sport compact versions of an economy car

your car doesnt make enough power to ride a clutch w/o stalling. these engines were designed to make power, not rev high. funny thing is most weed wackers rev to 12k rpm. funny coincidence?

Im not a dodge enthuiast either. but i love my neon. and ive had bunches of other cars. they make great power, good price and fun yes. but no.. it shouldnt be rwd or awd. its a sport compact. not a vette, 240, wrx. im sorry you openly hate your neon because other people dont accept it and youd feel cooler in a 240. sell it. make 175 wheel with an sr20

at least then people will think your car is TIGHT!.

cause thats all its about anyway right?
