So is the insurance fully in your name? cause the state trooper has nothing to do with insurance.

2 hours? takes 20 minutes on my sti

And they are both great cars if taken care of. The evo can be made faster cheaper, but other cars can be made faster and cheaper then the evo, so id say drive both. Whichever you like best, go with it. I was looking at both and just happened to find a good deal on my car and jumped on it. I'd still own an evo anyday.

Alot of people in this thread, have no clue what they're talking about.

Both cars, are great! Go out and test drive them, get a good feel on both and really pay attention to their power and handling abilities. Like I said before, these two cars are very close to each other stock.

Im not a fanboy like some people in this thread. :p but instead of saying go with this or that, do some research, and go from there. I personally haven't run into any other problems than my tranny, and thats because I have a Wrx. You wouldn't have to worry about that with an STi. But me, with only 15-1600 dollars in mods, im alot faster than some other Evo's and STi's running around.

An 07 STi has alot more potential than the previous years, cause of it's longer gears and other small upgrades in it's motor. I have friends with Evo's, yes they're quick, but man, they're like roaches. Everywhere you look you see an Evo, lol I wouldn't like to see a car that I have twice or three times a day.

    But thats just me

STi---- better residual (sp?) value, stronger driveline and very good trannys in the 07
EVO 9- responds amazing to mods- easy to mod - look great too.

STi sticks to the tracks more
EVO seems to becoming a 1320 beast

I wish i could have both a sti and a evo honeslty.. but that aint gunna happen

The evo's come factory with an 16g, I think. And the Evo 9's just come with a 18-20g compressor housing, so it's not much different than the 8's. The STi 04-06 come with the VF39 which isn't that small compared to the evo's. I know my vf34 which is alittle bigger than the vf39 is almost the same size as an 18g, with a smaller compressor housing though. So there really isn't that big of a difference in turbo size, yes the evo's is slightly bigger, but we do have 0.5 liters on them. So the arguement on you have a bigger turbo, will not serve a purpose.

Edit: made some changes, for that fag fanboy, WickedIXMR.

to own an evo you have to know i would say a good bit about cars or your gonna pay out the ass in maintence and getting it modded. But if you a decent mecahnic you should be alright. I do everything on my car oil changes, clutch, cams, all fluids all of my mods were done by me thats how i can afford mine and do the mods i want

So you would just have to baby it, but your s2000 already looks clean, I would just boost it and call it aday. :p
The diff in the S2 is it's weakness when people drag race with them. They're not made for launching really hard. I like both the STI and the EVO, but I would have to go with the STI myself. Or just get an RS coupe and stuff the 2.5 turbo in there

Again, lol. Do it once or twice and you can get it down to 30mins, you just have to remove some stuff to get to the plugs.

Word. I wish we had a big 16G from the factory. I think the Evo turbo flows ~100cfm more than the STI turbo, that means a lot more for making power than anything else in the motor. This is why stock for stock Evos respond better to race gas and make more power without a turbo upgrade.

I like my WRX, its a lot more comfortable for a tall guy like myself. Both cars are very similar, stock turbo the Evo will go farther. Much more than that and its just how big your wallet is for both cars. The STi is pretty much indestructable stock and the tranny will hold as much power as you will ever want to make. Motor is good up to ~400whp but people have gone over that.

Turbo your S. They are more of an underdog and when you can spank an evo or sti in the blink of an eye it's more fun

    New car:
    95 S14 with RB25DET (stock boost)

    Old car:
    Turbo S2000 400hp/285tq on 9:1 comp & 11psi

I highly recommend you go with an Evo. I too test drove the STI and Evo before coming up with my decision.

The Subaru had some very nice torque feel to it but the handling wasn't really what I was particularly looking for.

When I test drove the Evolution I fell in love with it within acouple minutes of driving it. So I bought myself an Evo aweek later.

Don't get me wrong, the Impreza is a great car too. My sense of driving and feel just felt better in the Evo than the STI.

    Either way keep us updated.

evo 16g is bigger than the vf39

and this is an evo IX next to an evo VIII

VF39's from what I hear are very prone to cracking. vf34's are usually the way to go with wrx's, i'm thinking of moving up to an evo 16g or if i want to kill myself, an 18g
