Coming from an ex s2000 owner i would go with the evo. Seems to me you want to sell your car for the exact same reason i sold mine and im happy with what i went with which is an evo. The s2000 is a very fun car but just not practical. I would go with the evo because they're just better its a fact. Interior is nicer, engine is deff better, tranny and transfer case is still very strong (no matter what ppl say, they dont know what theyre talking about) and so on. Even Al at dynoflash says "Subarus are a lot easier to damage the motor than Evos with bad tuning," and Al does work for both evos and stis. Of course these are all my opinions.
wow results are surprising. I thought a lot more people would vote for evo. IMO, evo has better motor but wrx has better driveline. a high hp evo=a lot of broken transfer cases.
You mean the sti has a better driveline. Wrx trannys are made out of paper. And evo transfer cases dont break unless you dont know how to drive the car. A friend of mine was putting down 500whp on pump and over 600whp on race gas and on the stock transfer case and raced the car plenty of times and never blew.Originally Posted by ttman

I like the sti's better, but i also like the evos, when it comes down to it, its about what you want, go test drive them both and see what your happier with. It isn't all about power, you don't always have to be the fastest

he has a nice s2000 and if you just want to autox they are good cars but if u want to go fast just get an evo i have been going to atlanta dragway for awhile and no offense but i havent even seen an sti break 12's and i run low 12's high 11's for about $1500 oh yeah and i have an 8 you can get a 9 now for about 25k or you can get an rs for about the same price and run 12's all stock

Also that is not the troof. I have been to meets where people have 30k+ cars, and it takes them four years later to mod it. Not everyone you see with a 30k car can afford it, or to mod it. Most idiots who buy these cars stuggle from pay check to pay check. I know a few who can afford, but I know double and triple that who can not.TROOF!!!!!!

I mean i wouldn't even think of getting a new evo or sti unless i had cash to drop as soon as i got it.I have done that with every car i have had just because i went out smart and looked at the budget and said ok the most i can afford is 20k so lets go with a 17k car and spend the rest on mods.
LOok if u go look in the forsale section here or any were else u will see a ton of ppl who got the new whips struggled to mod it and now there selling it and about to loose out the ass.when if they were smart enough te would have never been in that position in the 1st place if they would have got a cheaper car.
So like in my case i am not not sure what the next whip will be but if i wanted a evo i would get a evo8 just cause they run a little cheaper and ppl or willing to drop the price a little because of the new models,and on top of that i would have money to put it into the shop as soon as i got it ...VS... me going and getting a new 1 dropping 30k+ and struggle to mod it,so why buy a car u can't go all out with it as soon as u get it when the reason u got it was to go fast?

Man you sound defensive. Like I said there are a lot of people on here like that. That wasn't saying you were one of them. I sold my evo because of bigger and better things, I want to do. I bought that car, and went straight and dropped 8k into it. I just sold my cobra, and I am looking to buy a Porsche or a GTR. So many people put themselves in debt messing with cars they can't afford, to try and be cool. Fact is still that most on here can't afford the car they own now.
