I can very easily get someone here to make you a carbon box I dont know how much it'd be but it would be the same size as your battery. I dont know where you live anymore but Im sure lawerenceville auto parts or a store like it would carry what you need or Slack Auto parts in Gainseville

I have a box like that. Those aren't NHRA approved. The only plastic box that is NHRA approved is the Moroso one. Otherwise you have to make it out of a certain thickness steel or aluminum. I've been wanting to do an aluminum one for awhile.

They won't let you run at Commerce with that?

I have a similar kind of box that Jenson posted up. My brother ran it in his CRX and we were able to run at Commerce on different occasions and never had an issue with the box. I don't think they enforce the battery box rules that strictly.

and I already have this to toggle the battery connection:

NHRA rules say that if the disconnect is a button switch, push turns off, pull turns on. I guess this technically not compliant, but I doubt they'll hassle me so long as it turns off with a push.

Yea my bro has the same plastic box and they didnt hassle him. He mounted it where the spare tire used to be. For Friday's I dont think they inspect it that closely, unless you dip into the 11's maybe. Man my buddie can whip up an Ally one for you in a days time. You boys still coming out? I cant find an FN helmet....my dad lost his.

Dude, there must be something about my car. I was the 9th person in tonight, and the guy almost didn't let me run. He asked me to pop my hood and was like where's the battery? In the end, he let it slide for tonight, but was like I won't let you run next week w/o a cutoff.

Anyhow, it was good to beat on the motor a little bit. She ran like a champ. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to run any faster than when I was making only 179whp. I did trap a little higher though. Everyone was running pretty slow. I waxed a few mustangs and a GTO.

Next time, I gotta show up with DRs. I'm not going to get any faster at commerce running 195/60/15 tires.

Well, I think 120deg IATs might have something to do with being slow today. With intake temps that high, my ignition gets pulled back to about 18-20deg.

oh ok i hear yah when i was makin 190whp in the hatch i had a 2.2 60foot and ran 13.5@107 on neo gens so i would think u would have done way better than that in a 2000lbs crx

13.5 with 190whp 2.2 60ft 107mph trap. Usually you can't trap that high with that crappy a 60ft.

Fastest I've ever run is 14.14s @ 102.4mph with a 2.36s 60ft. This was in the fall up at a dragstrip in Maryland (Cecil).

At commerce, the fastest I've ever run was a 14.48s @ 97.1mph with a 2.27s 60ft, but I was making only 179 whp at the time. That was back in September 2005. I had 195 tires that were of a slightly softer rubber than the 195 all seasons I had on Friday. I also had the back seats taken out for that run.

So you can imagine my disappointment at running 14.51s @ 99.8mph, with a 2.49 60ft while making almost 50hp more to the wheels. Even with tires + cooler weather, I just don't see my car dropping a full second down the 1/4.

MIke i can get you a set of slicks too try out, they 22x9x15 i think on bogart wheels. We where running them on the silver crx. Let me know...
