Blacks also fight for the supposedly "politically correct" alternative to 'blacks' : "african-americans". This so-called politically correct term is racist in nature, im white, and the majority of whites are ok with being called white. Personally, when i look in the mirror, on the most simplist terms of colors my skin is white. Blacks on the other hand get uneasy when refered to as blacks. Why? I have no idea, all i know is there are plenty of people that fight for this "politically correct" term. I have a little bit of irish in my bloodline, but am i called an Irish-American, nope; neither do i want to be called that. There is only one type of american in my opinion and thats the good ol fashioned plain "american" NOT: irish-american, african-american, turkish-american, or any other word you could make up. I just dont understand why a race that is supposedly anti-segregation chooses to segregate themselfs with "politically correct" termanology.

We also have blatantly racist people in atlanta, that have influence over the population, two of which is the mayor of atlanta, and jesse jackson. yet they continue to do so with great support. You dont see the KKK on FOX News at night, but you see Jesse Jackson on there saying Katrina was a racist act on the goverments behalf.

All in all, this country needs to get over race, and worry about things that truly matter. And back on topic, yes : Black history month should be done away with asap.
o really, dude know what you are talking about before you speak, My grandparents and my parents were born back in the racist era, 1900 to the 1940s I know the stories that I have heard are not fiction, so to say that blacks are racist, is completely wrong, step in my grandparents shoes, and have your ass beaten for being black, or not doing what some white person told you to do. Be in their shoes and talk that dumb shit. My parents were born in the early 40s ad they went through some of the stuff my grandparents went through but not all the way to the same level, but it was close. Tell them that they are racsit for what happened to them, and you might not see another day. Black history is to show what struggles some blacks have been trough an what they have accomplished, So its not a national hoilday. Its something to give people inspiration for accomplishments.
