I am the one crying??? My god I find it hilarious how people get so concerned over small matters that doesn’t even affect that person. I do think schools and some business take it too far sometimes when it comes to recognizing black history month. Please tell me how exactly how it affects you directly and promotes inequality? The most I hear from people who don’t agree on BHm, is that they just have a problem with the name of the month. Which is also the same reason why ppl get pissed about BET and when fubu was popular (finally once ppl caught on to the name).

I never heard of a white holiday, but he might mean christmas. Shit I don't know about a white holiday and I really never heard of a blk holiday except MLK day (its not a blk holiday unless ppl get the day off)

theres not a holiday for every presidents birthday, presidents day is on Washingtons birthday (i believe) my assumption as to that would be because he is the first presidnt of the US. so they deicded to remember all presidents on his bday.

i believe the month was created to bring awareness about black history, right? but as i said in my first post black=white=asian=hispanic=etc.. history.

i think that cialis made a good point in this thread that the school curriculum needs a major overhaul to bring more minority history into the classroom

since when was it a specific presidents holiday. its just PRESIDENTS DAY not gwb day or clinton presidents day, so if there ever was a black president it would still be his holiday.... the issue with BHM is that its a specific holiday for a specific race....
