You make good points until here.

Why does it have to take "generations" to "get over" something that happened even MORE generations ago? How is that constructive at all? How is that efficient?

How does what happened to African slaves almost 200 yrs ago directly affect YOU today? Someone please explain that to me. Slavery has been officially abolished for almost 150 yrs now. How can you today be directly affected by something that happened almost 200 yrs ago?

You want to know what the REAL issue is? It is RACIST people using RACE as means to get something accomplished TO and AGAINST another race (sometimes even their own race) for their own benefit.

That's what it really boils down to. A racist person USING the "race card" as an excuse for their own inability to accomplish a goal. And it certainly goes both ways across the tracks. Minorities vs "Majorities", the haves vs the have nots. There are plenty of RACIST white, black, brown, green, yellow, blue, red people out there. PLENTY. The ironic thing is that they ALL use the same BS excuse to justify why they feel a certain way.

There is absolutely RACISM in America today. It happens. There is also infinitely more opportunities for EVERYONE out there today than there were yesterday. Those that want to succeed find a way to overcome adversity rather than wallow in it and use it as an excuse for themselves. Does that excuse RACISM and RACIST people? Hell no. But the bottomline is that if people keep staring at the past and using it as an excuse for their PRESENT situations, they will never grow and move forward because they'll always be stuck staring backwards rather than forwards.
