I'm not trying to take away from the fact you started one of the largest, if not the largest, import forums in the southeast. That's all well and good. But your statements in this thread would lead one to believe you've given up on the local (and national) automotive scene. My point is, that kind of mentality coming from you, since we're bragging a little, is pretty sad.
And yes I've been to meets lately, we tend to have a good time. Probably because most of us realize it's not just about the cars and their owners' respective claim to fame. It's about having a good time with like-minded people.
I'm sorry you must have me mistaken with someone else. You assume that I'm one of these one-track-minded fan boys? I'll let you know that cars aren't the center of my life, I have other interests. I'm also pursuing a bachelors degree in computer science so I can provide for myself after I graduate, and a family if I ever decide to have one. So please, don't assume that you know anything about me or my interests.
Calm down, Sparky. See this is part of the reason the scene fades as well. People get too serious about things and take things too personal. I, simply, asked why is it sad because Julio stopped going to meets? Not sure where your response comes from.
Like above, dude, I was wondering why the dude thought it was sad that you don't participate in the "scene" like you used to. As if once you're in the tuning hobby, you have to remain there for life. Like you said, priorities shift. There are so many "classic" original members of this site that would put yours and my input into the hobby to shame. Nowadays, they have no involvement in it anymore. They grew out of it. No less respect to them for it.
True. Later, QD.
I don't get it either QDizzle..
I believe, that even though I now have a family and my precious little daughter which is my # 1 Priority and most important thing on the planet..I still have time to play with this.... I mean, yes, is not slammed with dope off set rimmayyysssss in the color green. or rusted hood... but hey.. it is what it is....I still enjoy it.. This picture was taken at Cruise for kids.. big fan of the event.. and may attend this year.. will def try..
Your family should be your #1 priority, no doubt. No hobby is that important. But just because life happens doesn't mean you have to give it up. I'm sure these gentleman didn't/don't neglect their families because they want to shoot the breeze with fellow enthusiasts a couple days out of the month.
That's all I'm saying; I don't know how else to explain it.
lol.. Cool.. I haven't been to a car event in about 1 year... and I'm a cop out... I have been to quite a few events in my lifetime just like many in this thread.. in reality.. I rather look at 50 Porsche's then 200 civics and 240's.
But cool.. you win. lmao. Continue blaming people like me, who rarely attend events anymore.. where in reality, the problem is somewhere else...
