Me (FG2 197bhp, 139tq) vs 25th Anniv Mustang (190bhp, 220tq) Si is stock, has around 4000 miles on it. Mustang had intake, headers, cat back exhaust, I have no idea how much that would affect the stock numbers on the V6 Mustangs. Both cars have 1 passenger. Mustang loses by several lengths. Let the Import vs Domestic flames commence haha............
correction it is a v6...with i/h/e......vs stock what............shazaammmmmmmmmm bitches
Fuck V8s, waste too much gas. Also a rule of mechanics is that the less moving parts a machine has the more reliable it is. 4cyl FTW.V8 guys need to sink the same amount of money into their suspension to keep up with lightweight 4 cylinder cars as we do to make our 4 cylinders keep up with their v8s. i guess its what you want, but i like to be able to drive my car somewhere else besides a straight line.

1988 Supra N/A 5spd SLOW
Please show me that rule.
Also, how long do those 4 cyls last when they are making 3000 hp? Oh yeah, THEY CAN'T!
How many 4 cyls make the entire length of the Daytona 500? NONE - they can't even make it to the starting line!
There are more V8s made in the 1960s still running than 4 cyls made in the 1970s. That's a whole decade up on them!

I've never heard of that rule either, as I was a professional tech for Nissan and Chevrolet. Ive been working on cars since I was a kid with my dad, now I do it for a living. V8's will always be king on engines, no doubt. Ive owned a very quick, (see the keyword QUICK) but it'd still get raped by my truck.

One Big Ass Mistake America
This whole statement is bullshit.
You DO KNOW that a v8 vette can get up to 36+ mpg right? 4cyl average 30-40..
The REAL mechanical rule is, the more efficient the motor, the better it runs. The lighter the vehicle, the more efficient the motor can run. Big (NOT THE BIGGEST) motor in a lighter car will generally be a better option.
Case in point, my LS swapped EG gets about 37mpg on the HWY. I drove THE SAME EXACT CAR with a heavy, 2.2L H22 and got 41mpg. The transmission ratios were almost identical too so don't try to take the ratio route. Take some physics and statics classes next time you wanna talk shit.
Next, Anything FACTORY made for a performance V8 car will have considerably better suspension, brakes, tires, etc. to handle the "sporty" aspect of the vehicle.
Bottom line, no matter what car you buy, you will probably spend more time and money upgrading it to the standards of a brand new reasonably priced sports car.
aint that the motherfucking truth! my 1g dsm was a dream under the hood....ran 13.0's on nothing but a evo3 big 16g and 3" exhaust....but goddamit i broke some dumbass $10 part everytime I went to the fucking track....i took 2 yrs of that bullshit and practically gave that car away to get it out of my driveway....not to mention every person who works at a mistubishi dealership in this town is a complete dumbass....I was told I don't know how many times that they didnt make 1g turbo cars, or when i landed a copy of the mistubishi parts system on cd i would take them the part #'s i needed so it would be idiot proof and somehow 4 seperate times I ended up with the wrong damn parts....i ended up going to the local dodge dealer and cross referencing my parts to chrysler laser crap and paying about 15% more just to get away from the idiots at mitsu
p.s.....it's a lot easier to push weight than pull it....if you take two identical cars, in a fantasy world i know, only difference being fwd vs. rwd the rwd car will edge out the fwd car....
Nah, he'll have an excuse not to race you.
Tell ya what, bring that Si down to my neck of the woods and I'll drag you up and down I75 with my mustang. And if ya don't like that offer, I have a STOCK Gt mustang that will do the same. Even with my friend (Shitty driver) driving.
PM me if ya down. I'm only in Macon. About a 1hr drive from Atlanta. We'll make a video just for this thread.
PS - I'll even do a roll race cause we all know Honda boys don't run from a dig. LMAO.
