Dude you need a career for starters. I dont know where you work but if your with moms that needs to be changed. Go join the military and use that as a way to really set in and get on your feet. If someone gets pregnant through her own fault and neither Father nor Mother are able to care for that child that way he/she should be cared for, should they just be made to keep that child anyway? This guy has family around who is willing to help. It's not like they live in a van down by the river. I think that the kid will be better served around family - adoption should be a last ditch effort.

In a sense, Paul is correct. If there is any doubt in your mind whether or not you can do this, you should consider it. If you don't seriously and honestly think you can give this child a good, decent life (morally and healthy), there are many qualified, financially sound couples that can provide exactly what the child needs. Couples that can't have babies on their own for whatever medical reasons they have live for the day that someone calls and gives them info on a chance at being parents.
This isn't to say to do it, but to give the child a chance. If you KNOW you can do it and KNOW that you have ample help immediately if you can't at that moment, then you should think about it.
Good luck in your decision. I also hope you can do it as every child needs their biological parents and I would hate to see a child not being with his parents. But I would rather a child be with parents that can give him/her stability than not. Later, QD.

well man it isn't the worst thing ever; my mother had the same situation and gave up a my older sister b/c she wanted to give her a better life than she could provide. my mother later married my father and had 3 boys. my sister found us about 15 years ago. she lives in marietta and we have a cool relationship.

adoption is being responsible if you can't provide for a baby. i'm almost 30 and i don't even feel like an adult... i can't see how an 18 yr old can provide for a baby. not to say you can't but the odds are against you and for your child. this is why my "children have children" stance is the way it is; judging by your last few comments and the post on here you aren't old enough to care for yourself let alone a baby on your own. i wish your kid the best man.
