That's crap. All you need to insure a car is the VIN #. If your insurance company requested otherwise, they suck. By their standards, who gives a fuck if you own or rent, or bought the car? You're paying them money for a service. They could care less if you're using it.

well my insurance was wrong then. they told me i had to have the bill of sale in hand. i guess i'm glad i didn't get pulled over.
