    LF-A Sports Car Concept
The LF-A sports-car concept was originally shown at the 2005 NAIAS to express a bold new direction in styling for the Lexus brand. The goals for the new LF-A are no different than they were with the original concept: To build a supercar with world-class performance that is uniquely Lexus.

As with all new Lexus vehicles, the styling of the LF-A is rooted in a design direction called L-finesse. The concept of L-finesse was used to shape and detail the original LF-A, and it was used to reshape, redetail and redefine this latest version. Lexus has further refined the styling of the new LF-A to enhance its exotic nature with a greater use of curved surfaces and interesting details.

The running gear of the LF-A is just as it was with the original, powered by a high-revving 500-plus horsepower V10 engine. Its front mid-engine placement, along with a rear-mounted transaxle and rear-mounted radiators, allows for excellent weight distribution. The horsepower, superior aerodynamics, and revised styling make a top speed of 200 mph not only possible but probable.

An “F” logo, indicating the vehicle’s status as a part of the new “F” marque, is located on each front fender.

“The first LF-A was a pure concept, but one that we went so far as to conduct engineering analysis on,” said Carter. “This latest concept is much closer to a vehicle that we would bring to market, and one in which we will be gauging consumer interest.”

    Lexus LF-A Preliminary Specifications

    Powertrain
    Engine: V10 (under 5.0 liters)
    Horsepower: More than 500
    Top Speed: Approximately 200 MPH

    Tire Size
    Front: 265/35R20
    Rear: 305/30R20

    Dimensions (inches)
    Overall Length: 175.6
    Overall Width: 74.6
    Overall Height: 48.0
    Wheelbase: 102.3

    Black

    IS-F blue

British racing green (yeah I don't know why but I think it looks GOOD)

    Matador red

    Smokey Granite Mica

    Crystal White (my personal favorite)

aaand... yellow. Because all exotic cars need to be seen in yellow at least once!

that car is gorgeous. i agree on the point that the NSX will most likely not compete. Honda has never been in the game for raw power and numbers. However, that is the reason that the original NSX was so misunderstood, it never was very fast (not for the money) but it was BALANCED, which is why the few that get it, love them.
    Who knows?

The NSX really changed the game as it was good looking, reliable, nice interior and drove incredibly. The Germans and Italians had to answer.

The NSX-R (We never got it) is considered one of the greatest driving cars ever made.

Honda waited too long to revise it and then discontinued it. They lost more than $780 million on the NSX project allegedly. We have now seen 2 NSX concepts in 5 years and they are no closer to production today than 5 years ago.

its a bad-ass car, but no need to have a 210mph top end. thats just ridiculous, no need for anyone to go that fast. maby 180, even then its still pushing the limits.
the nsx it might have a chance cause like it was stated above, it has a really good balance, and with the right amount of power behind it and a good gear ratio it just might keep up, may not beat it, but at least hang with the comp.

It battles exotics and its about bragging rights. Hell we technically don't need cars to do 100mph in America, let alone 200 or 210.

    The NSX would be killed and the NSX-R wouldn't stand much better, its best times on the Ring are;
    7:56 --- Honda NSX-R - Motoharu Kurosawa, Best MOTORing
    compared to
    7:24 --- Lexus LF-A

Thats not even close on a track.

Good grief, give it up on the stupid Radical already.

It might be "street legal" in some states, just like a lot of retarded stuff is allowed in some states and not others. Are there "RADICAL" dealerships? What kind of annual production and sales numbers do they have? Does it pass emmissions? Does it have the proper safety equipment? Well, if the "no's" outnumber the "yes" then there's your answer.

Didn't the Koenigg have some issues a few years ago qualifying for some records because of productions numbers?

it passes emissions if you put the proper emissions equipment on it, just like any other car. and of course it has the proper safety ****, you think they would let somebody RACE it if it wasnt safe enough for street driving? dont think so.

as far as production/sales numbers go, its a small number but its enough to be a production car.

get off your high horse about the new lex being the fastest production car on the ring. ITS NOT.

Again, WE did not say it, the EXPERTS are. NOT US. So get MAD at THEM. Clearly you know MORE than them.

How can you SERIOUSLY compare these 2 cars? One is a real car, the other a damn go-kart with a car engine.

I'm not on any high horse. I'm just tired of hearing the same thing over and over and over and over again. Get some new material for God's sake. We got it. YOU would have sex right up the the Radical's tailpipe, we got it. It would seem the only one on any horse is you with your Radical OCD. Give it a rest.

Did the LFA beat the GTR's time? Yes or no? THAT was what the thread was about, was it not? Did the Lexus beat the GTR or not? It did. So why do ying yangs like you have to come in splitting hairs about crap that has nothing to do with that? If that's riding a high horse, then screw it....giddy up then.

Lolol I've never said it looked, cute.

But you have to take into consideration, that the lexus is still in the concept stage. So who knows how it'll look when they start the production starts. Im sure it'll be a badass car all around, power, handling, braking, ect. To me, as it sits right now, it's not the best looking car. To me, I would go with the GT-R. :p
