In no way, shape, or form did he blame Bush for a "natural disaster". He was commenting on the LACK OF FEDERAL ASSISTANCE!!! He blamed Bush for not sending help due to Bush "not caring about black people"! I'm no Kaye advocate but, you didn't have to be a card carrying member of his fan club to hear to what he said.
...and if N.O. were a "rich WHITE city" I personally feel they would have gotten help sooner. The key word here is RICH!

So, is it the "race card" only if a black person says something negative has happened or is the direct result of a white person's actions? I'm just curious because, that seems to be what's being said here. Had he said "Bush doesn't like poor people" would that have meant he was pulling the "income card"? Bottom line, Kaye said what Kaye felt, just as he always does. Period.

I think the main problem is that the race card has been overused. It has been pulled on many issues that really had nothing to do with race. So when something does happen (or doesn't happen) that is quite possiblly racially motivated (like the slow response to Katrina), you have some people who look at it as being a cop-out and then cry that their race is being "picked on." Maybe it's just me, but if a natural disaster were to strike a city like Denver, you can't tell me that the feds would have responded in such a leisurely manner like they did with N.O. But that is just my personal opinion.
