True you may love everyone equally but not everyone has the same perception as you. Just to let you know some ways slavery affects us nowadaysOriginally Posted by kelly

Sure it's a different day and age but slavery did happen, Sure it might not affect us directly but it sure does affect us indirectly weather you agree with it or not. It's the past and i have put the past behind me but some black people dwell on the fact that we used to be slaves and those are the same black people that feel the need to have affirmative action, welfare, and equal rights laws.
Ever heard of the jim crow laws back in the day? Yeah our own government isn't passed slavery yet
Theres just some things white people will never understand about blacks and vice versa
this is why there will always be racism
... well how bout all the black people that celebrate "black history" month when they are part white???? shouldn't they be proud of there white heritage too???
the fact that their great great great etc... ancestors owned their the rest of ther ancestors...
... lets face it... most of u cant say that there is not some white in your back ground... or if u know where ur ancestors came from.. africa/jamacia... all that...
just as i can't tell u if i'm french, dutch, english.. so on and so forth...
why don't we know these things?? because most of us don't care.. why don't we care??? cause it was soooo long ago..
Very well spoken. I pick youOriginally Posted by Killer
and that right there is why alot of "african americans" are dumb nowadays. Most black people call themselves black or African American without knowing anything about there culture or heritage or a damn where there from. They just all say there from Africa which in reality is where humanity started.Originally Posted by Killer
For instance I'm haitian, my parents are both born and raised in haiti aswell as my whole family, I know my culture, i know my heritage, i know my language and thats because i choose to to have a better outlook and help me become smarter.
There are some Haitian people that are racist against black americans. We don't even have a term for the word nigger we just call those people "american noir" or black americans because around the world black americans are viewed to be the lowest of the low when it comes to black races.
black history month is racest...
if it wasnt, there wouldnt have to be a "month" why cant we all get along? because some minority(not so minority now though, i feel im a minority being white) yells out racesism, its automatically thought that they are gettign picked on, when in reality, its the oppisite!!!!! im sick and tired of it all

wow kelly look at all this controversy you stirred
IA members are outraged....LOL
Werd, I love it when I go to Puerto Rico and the people there are racist against each other based on skin color...All of them are Ricans, but they still focus on race....They all share the same history, but the color line is there...It's set. It is a big deal(race)...If people that live on an island that takes 4hrs to drive across and 8hrs around are still focusing on the color barrier that sets them apart...How the hell do you expect THe USA to "just get over it." Sorry but it wont happen...People dwell, and others do take pride in their pasts and are not willing to let it go. No matter where u go in this damn state everything is black and white. I hated my courses @ GSu b/c every damn class I had turned everythign into a race issue...It was ridiculous.Originally Posted by PhAtBoYMr2

What's most ironic is the Martin Luther King died trying to make the black man "equal", yet today all his predecessors are trying to make the black man "superior". How's that work again????![]()
I've said it a million times. There are just as many racist black people as there are white, green, and blue people. Actually both use the same excuse for being racist.....something "someone" else did years ago to somebody is the reason why they are the way they are TODAY....![]()
We don't live in a world filled with color blind people. So if you want to be treated equal to anyone, don't make COLOR the basis for anything. That includes TV, awards, pageants, history months, etc.
Aww...Latin American Month (September) is racist too huh? Even though we come in all colors....Dammmit! Fucking spics.Originally Posted by Jimmy B

I will be the first to admit that I am racist/prejudice/whatever the hell else there is out there....I am more likely to grab my purse tighter on MARTA when a white guy gets on late at night than I am over a black man. I am more likely to walk to the other side of the road if I am alone on a street with a black man....I admit it...Just like I have also learned when to play the race card in order to get myself to where I need to be (social status/job opportunity.)Originally Posted by Jaimecbr900

How come it is called BLACK HISTORY MONTH? Shouldn't it be AFRICAN AMERICAN MONTH? I mean so many people bitched to have AFRICAN AMERICAN status even though I don't know what a AFRICAN AMERICAN is... is there a AFRICAN AMERICAN country/land/territory? So if there aren't any BLACKS in the US why is it BLACK HISTORY MONTH?
