    why do they label themselves african??? shouldn't it be more like the COUNTRY they came from.. not the land mas..

    i call myself american.. not north american.... and further more.. if u were born here YOUR AMERICAN not anything else...

    (i think brett posted a speech by andy rooney that talks about that topic)

    African americans = Black

    But this isn't true in some cases.

    because there are more than just africans here, and we did enslave more than just africans...

    and as i said... and as pbm2 agreed, i would bet most of the blacks wouldn't know if they were african or not... just cause u have dark skin doesn't mean ur from africa...

    technically, egyptians are african americans too if u look at it that way.. right?

    no i agree i just think that if they want to be called AFRICAN AMERICAN shouldn't their month be the same? thats just me... its kinda like people immigrating to US which 1st language is english yet they will only use spanish

    i didn't own slaves so why would black people hate me? besides the fact that half of ia hates me. before black people white people enslaved each other. if we wwere smart we would have enslaved spanish people cause they atleast work hard. lol
