Sure it's a different day and age but slavery did happen, Sure it might not affect us directly but it sure does affect us indirectly weather you agree with it or not. It's the past and i have put the past behind me but some black people dwell on the fact that we used to be slaves and those are the same black people that feel the need to have affirmative action, welfare, and equal rights laws.

and that right there is why alot of "african americans" are dumb nowadays. Most black people call themselves black or African American without knowing anything about there culture or heritage or a damn where there from. They just all say there from Africa which in reality is where humanity started.
For instance I'm haitian, my parents are both born and raised in haiti aswell as my whole family, I know my culture, i know my heritage, i know my language and thats because i choose to to have a better outlook and help me become smarter.
There are some Haitian people that are racist against black americans. We don't even have a term for the word nigger we just call those people "american noir" or black americans because around the world black americans are viewed to be the lowest of the low when it comes to black races.

Werd, I love it when I go to Puerto Rico and the people there are racist against each other based on skin color...All of them are Ricans, but they still focus on race....They all share the same history, but the color line is there...It's set. It is a big deal(race)...If people that live on an island that takes 4hrs to drive across and 8hrs around are still focusing on the color barrier that sets them apart...How the hell do you expect THe USA to "just get over it." Sorry but it wont happen...People dwell, and others do take pride in their pasts and are not willing to let it go. No matter where u go in this damn state everything is black and white. I hated my courses @ GSu b/c every damn class I had turned everythign into a race issue...It was ridiculous.

I will be the first to admit that I am racist/prejudice/whatever the hell else there is out there....I am more likely to grab my purse tighter on MARTA when a white guy gets on late at night than I am over a black man.
