Not defending the cop, but where did the OP get the impression that "cops apparently have the power to do whatever the fuck they want"? Was it the fact that formal charges were filed against the cop?

Dont be an ignorant shit, quit stereotyping. The 2 cops were at fault, not cops as a whole. Its no excuse for attacking her, but you dont know what led up to the cop losing it either.

Well the charges were dropped and the cop was not convicted of anything.. Which means you can do what he did since our justice department follows precedence..

I read the posted article and it said he was formally charged earlier this month. Did it say why the charges were dropped as that was an open and shut civil rights violation case.

That said, the rest of my statement stands. Stereotyping a group because of the actions of 1 is simply wrong on every conceivable level.

Wow dude, chill it the fuck out. No need to attack me. I have FOUR cop friends. And they are good friends of mine.. Maybe I should have said it differently.. Ok formal charges have been brought on the cop simply because the fucking idiot was on camera. Cops can do whatever the fuck they want away from the public eye and sometimes they do. Just because you carry a gun on your hip and "protect and serve" doesn't mean they are the most honest people out there.. I know this because, like I said, I have cop friends, I know what they do. Hell, all of them drive drunk from time to time...Next day they go write tickets for DUI..

Like Redej said, just hand cuff her.. A cop should use force only when needed.. When he is under attack or threatened.. Not a shoe hitting his foot from a teenage girl with an attitude (which is all of them)..

I am not justifying it, but I am not surprise at the outcome. A cop is not a teacher that would not pay that kind of stuff no mind. The shit does not surprise me. Thats why my kids will know to atleast show respect to officers even if the officer is in the worng, b/c in those type of situations they're in control.

I guess that cop skipped the day in the academy that they cover the force continuum. I didnt realize that it goes from verbal commands to crotch kicking and girl and slamming her face into the ground. Thats a new one for me.

And yes cop 1 is a criminal. Cop 2 just assisted and the incident was out of his field of view (benefit of the doubt of course).

And you would be wrong. The cop has formal charges pending. Probably agrivated battery on a minor, than add the civil suit for civil rights violations. If the girl sues him and the city/county and wins, which she will, the city/county can go after the cop for any damages the city has to pay out.

Say the girl wins a suit for 1 mill a piece from the cop and the city, the city can go back and sue the cop for that million plus legal expenses.

Only stricter law enforcement I know of is dictatorships, Muslim countries including the Philippines, and un-civilized countries..

Niether am I taking up for the two cops in this, but what BaginJimmy said is competely true. You have no idea what that girl did to push him over his limits.
