Thread: Timing Belt help... Award inside

    hey, look at the cams withe the valve cover off. Near the cam gears, there should be two little holes in the cam caps, and 2 holes in the cams. Stick a roll pin or a skinny screw driver in each with both lined up.(BTW that is the only way they will with the holes in position.)

    Also, having a lower timing cover would be helpful for getting it in TDC, but take out the number 1 spark plug and put a long screw driver in the hole and make sure it is at the very peak. Then put the belt on, spin it over about 1.5 times and tighten the tensioner while the slack is out. Then watch your screw driver go up and down and make sure you have it set to where they line back up after a couple of turns of the crank.

    In other words. Pistons (1 and 4) have to be at the top.
    And also. you sure you got the right timing belt. If im not mistaken some b series have different amount of teeth on them?
