The 636 is still not a good bike to start on. Might be worste than a GSXR600 since it has a little more torque.
Here is the very first street bike I rode. I have ridden dirtbikes a few times (Crashed most of them). But this is an 02 SV650s...
Great gear there...
Then I bought a couple weeks later a 1994 Yamaha SecaII. Fun little bike and a great beginner bike
Needed a new tire so burnt this one off.
A few months later I sold it and bought a 1996 CBR600 F3 as a project bike that I rebuilt myself. Here are the pics of what I have done to what I call the Flying Turd. http://www.flickr.com/photos/atlanta...7602727619521/
And here I am on my bike at Deal's Gap from a month or two ago...
Here are some vids. My XJ600...

By the way for those who think you need a 600/750 or even a 1000cc to have fun. This guy is on what my yellow bike was except no windscreen. He's on a RACE track against a 02 or so R1 and is spanking it in the turns constantly. The camera bike is the same one as mine that had trouble beating a stock 350z.
