Billy, id do the rebuild kit. While it may be easier to just swap it out, at least if you rebuild it, you know how it really is inside.
For $400, I would rather just swap in another motor as you'd be back on the road sooner opposed to you rebuilding what you currently have.

Billy - What has failed in your current motor? If you were to rebuild the current motor, you need to factor in a couple extra hundred dollars for misc parts. Looking at this on paper, it seems like finding a used motor is the way to go. My issue would be, I wouldn't want to just do a simple swap-a-roo, I'd want to install something more fun like a B-series.

So where/what time does everyone meet up at on Friday?
Friday nights around 9pm at the Sherwin Williams at Thomas Crossroads.
Just gathering all of the parts. I pulled everything off the other day. The motor will be coming out in a few weeks and getting all new bearings and gasket matched to the new intake. Hopefully will make a few more hp and tq when its done.

Well I finished tuning dad's car last night and I'm happy with the results on 93oct:
30 minutes later, I lost 1st and 2nd gear. I could get it into 3-5th but it would pop right out....
Mr. Gavora can add some more details about the evening.... Stoopid Subaru 5spds.....

Hahaha I dismantle them in my sleep now. lol I thought dad's luck with the car had finally changed. He had an injector fail and cost him his first motor. Sketchy machine shop work hindered his second motor. This motor is great was a breeze to tune, makes awesome power, and then to have the shitty 5spd fail pisses me off....

Not the motor just the transmission is dead. 2nd gear is gone. well second and 1st.
Its on pump gas (93 oct). You asked for a 4th gear log and I replied i wasn't doing 127mph on 85. 85 being interstate 85. lol The graph/pull was done in 3rd gear like usual. 6spd cars its recomended to use 4th obviously....
