I will say that you do come off a little condescending with the music knowledge QDizzle, but i can understand why. Theres a ton of people that listen to Hot 107.9 and think they know what rap is or what is does. They pretend like rap started with people like Lil Wayne, Kanye, etc. They have no clue what was going on back in the 80s and 90s.

When i was growing up, i guess around mid to late 90s was my high school years. I was heavy into the west coast rap. Snoop, Dre, Dog Pound, Spice 1, 2Pac, etc. I think freshman year in highschool i listend to Biggie, and then i started to branch out into other music. Capone N Noreaga, Wu Tang, Rakim, Gang Starr, Boot Camp Click, KRS-One, etc etc etc

So my musical tastes were shaped a lot differently than someone that lived the 70s-80s and experienced that music. But that doesnt mean i dont know or comprehend as much as they might.

That would be like saying just cause you didnt live in the XXs you dont know anything about Rock N Roll because you didnt experience the Beatles, Led Zeppelin , Rolling Stones, Elvis, etc

Here is why I feel the way I do. I don't claim to know it all. It only comes down as the way you feel because I try to explain the history from an experimental side of things. Not from a GOOGLE site. There's a difference in listening to Eric B when his music is 10 years old and listening to it when it was fresh. You may not understand, but that may because you don't feel like it like I do. There was just "thing" in the air that's hard to describe when innovators were inventors. And I don't try to sound condescending (if I do I certainly apologize, even to Bstone). And I'm also not trying to say that you (or bstone) don't know anything AT ALL about rap. Just the past, lolol.

I'll tell you right now I don't know a motherfucking thing about that era of music. I listen to the shit out of it. But I'd have to be the GOOGLING dude to learn anything about the groups of that era. If I don't know, I'll tell you I don't know. Later, QD.
