It may be, but I guarantee you I'm damn near right about them. According to your age, you were born in 1984. Eric B and Rakim's first album came out when you were about 3 years old. Their last together came out in 1991. I highly doubt you were sitting around listening and taking in the "hip hop atmosphere" at 7 years of age. Highly doubt it. Like most any other child, you probably didn't really get into listening to music until you were around 10, probably 11 years old. And even then, you were probably just listening to the music at hand and not really concerned with anything else. I was around 10 years when I really started paying attention to who was who. But of course the year I turned 10 was about the year rap came out on the scene. So no you didn't experience old school hip hop when it was still new. Later, QD.
