I passed one of these on the way to class today. It was in a caravan of late 80s Porsches. I have no clue if it was authentic or not. Had the Carrera decal/paint. I'm curious as to where they were going...

You got it wrong. Most Porsche can fit more than 2 people, the engine is not mounted in the middle, and Chicks do not see a Luxury MR2 sexy, they do to a Porsche though.

^^ exactly why porsche's are marketed to people who want to impress other people. not performance-wise though.

i actually think that's more dumb than the MR2 analogy. Porsche was around 30+ years before the MR2 was built.

What do you consider a great handling sportscar that's been around since the 1960's?

do actors and movie stars who can afford anything...do they buy ferraris and lambo's just because they are the best performing cars? no, its to impress people. they are plenty of cars that would outperform ferraris and lambo's and we all know that.

do people wear brand name clothes so it feels better on their skin? no...

LOL @ the amount of mentally challenged, no respect, JDM fags who don't know anything. It's overwhelming how you can not respect a RS. This is sad.

Must have been. They were getting on 285 south, probably heading for 75. I would've got the cam out, but I had to get in the turning lane to go north.

Name me ONE far that sounds like a Ferrari. Now name me one that sounds and feels like a Lamborghini. Not all sportscars are about status or primarily status symbols.

You're answer would be false for me. I don't want the name brand visible, they aren't paying me to wear it so why should i advertise for them? BUT i do appreciate the quality AND feel of better clothing. You spend your days/nights in 10° weather wearing a clothes from wal-mart and tell me how it works out for you. Certain brands you're paying for the research and development of that product, not just the name or look.

Try late 50's dumbass. The 911 began in the 60's evolving from the 1950's 356's.

My grandparents can afford whatever car they basically want and they drive 1990 and 1997 Pontiac TranSports. Everything on myself now, from head to foot, is straight from the racks of Wal-Mart. Just because celebrities buy these cars(Lambos, Ferraris, etc) for status symbolism, doesn't mean everyone that buys them does so for rep points. Later, QD.

This is exactly why i've been wanting to get my online magazine, Vintage Tuning, going...people today neither understand nor respect the roots of their car. Datsun and Honda had ZERO respect coming into America but look at what they've made of themselves. Hell, we were at war with Japan killing each other just a couple decades before they came here!!

i mean i get that...theres a white porsche in my neighborhood with gold rims, its just absolute ****in sex...and im sure its a very good car, but over the years , the styling has hardly changed and its never looked great to begin with...theres people that will agree with me and people that will call me a dumbass for that..

it just all depends on how you look at it , its really a love it or hate it..
